Does anyone else find the silence deafening? No. /tread I suspect the duo of Camargo and Culberson (or his replacement) will log more innings than Donaldson and Swanson in 2019.

There are recent historical similarities in their abilities to stay on the field, though to your point they are not contractual.

We really need Swanson he really improved with the glove last yr
Got to take care of that wrist -- I don't care if he does not hit a hell of alot but a 750 ish OPS would be nice

As long as we see JD late and ST and he is healthy that is all right by me
If he is a bust well, its only one yr
We will see, at this time caution is not a bad thing

Okay. So now that that's out of the way....... what about Donaldson? 23 million for a ball player made out of glass is pretty stupid also. Maybe, it's certainly a risk, but he did come back hitting like an MVP in limited time with the Indians. Time will certainly tell. It's definitely too early to say it was a stupid deal, but I'll agree with anyone who says at this moment that it's a risky deal.

I think AA is caught up in his past relationships with Toronto and Los Angeles. Donaldson has not been right for two years. At 23 mil, AA and the Braves got snookered. After a whole winter of rest and conditioning, this guy can't answer the bell two weeks into spring training.

It was always a risky deal, but it was a high reward deal if successful and mitigated downside risk if it failed.
If it fails, we have one year of wasted financial impact but on the field we turn back to something we've done okay with before and still have Riley moving forward as the future.
I actually sort of get all these things that seem to frustrate a lot of other people. I might have wanted the plan to be a bit different, but it's the plan the guy in charge of making plans came up with and I am going to let it play out before I bitch about it. I feel the same way about this I do when I delegate a job to a business manager. I don't nit pick everything until the results come in.
I didn't bitch about the Coppy/Hart plan because I wanted to see the results. I am not going to bitch about the AA plan until I think enough time has passed to fairly judge the results. I did bitch about Wren's plan because enough time had passed to judge the result.
