Maybe, it's certainly a risk, but he did come back hitting like an MVP in limited time with the Indians. Time will certainly tell. It's definitely too early to say it was a stupid deal, but I'll agree with anyone who says at this moment that it's a risky deal. Neither the team or the press is even talking about Donaldson. I think AA is caught up in his past relationships with Toronto and Los Angeles. Donaldson has not been right for two years. At 23 mil, AA and the Braves got snookered. After a whole winter of rest and conditioning, this guy can't answer the bell two weeks into spring training. I think nobody is talking about it because nobody is really worried about him not playing yet. Neck hasn’t played yet and nobody is talking about that either. I do take it back, someone did ask someone within the org wht JD hasn’t played yet, and from my understanding the training staff is working on his foot work and running to lower the chances of another calf injury. I don’t blame them for that. They know the deal is risky and they’re wanting the risk to be worth it. I have no issues with them taking things slow out the gate if it means him playing a full season.

I just hope he isn't mocking God when he hits homeruns. Looking to the sky throwing the 666 signs and sticking his tongue out like a serpent. A lot of these athletes have been doing that lately. I've been holding that in for awhile, but there I've said it.

It was always a risky deal, but it was a high reward deal if successful and mitigated downside risk if it failed. If it fails, we have one year of wasted financial impact but on the field we turn back to something we've done okay with before and still have Riley moving forward as the future. I actually sort of get all these things that seem to frustrate a lot of other people. I might have wanted the plan to be a bit different, but it's the plan the guy in charge of making plans came up with and I am going to let it play out before I bitch about it. I feel the same way about this I do when I delegate a job to a business manager. I don't nit pick everything until the results come in. I didn't bitch about the Coppy/Hart plan because I wanted to see the results. I am not going to bitch about the AA plan until I think enough time has passed to fairly judge the results. I did bitch about Wren's plan because enough time had passed to judge the result. +1 The Braves never said anything was guaranteed. In fact, I think they were rather transparent. They said they COULD shop down any aisle, but they're looking for deals that make sense. Four years for McCutchen doesn't make sense, four years for Pollack doesn't make sense, Wright/Touki/Pache for Kluber doesn't make sense, Albies for JTR doesn't make sense, a GOD package for Haniger doesn't make sense, $300+ million for Harper doesn't make sense. At the same time, the Braves made offers for Kluber and JTR, they offered a contract to Brantley, they considered rotation options; these have all been confirmed. So, nobody can say the Braves didn't try. I think some are willing to risk the future to win right now, and when I look at the landscape of the league, I don't see an off-season where the Braves could have surpassed the Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, or Astros, so what's the point of going all in right now? You wanna talk about risk? JD isn't a risk, going all in right now is a risk. I'm perfectly fine with trusting the process and the development of the prospects and once the Braves KNOW what they have going out and getting those 1 or 2 pieces to where we can definitively say that the Braves are on par with all the other teams I just mentioned.

Okay. So now that that's out of the way....... what about Donaldson? 23 million for a ball player made out of glass is pretty stupid also. He better be very very careful not to trip over the chalk lines

A lot of satanic crap has transferred over into sports from Hollywood. Lebron James and a lot of the NBA lot do this. They hide the fact that they say it is 3 point sign, but I'm not believing it. I'll turn a blind eye if you make a three, but when they start looking to the sky, things start becoming suspicious.

I mean, you're here talking about him throwing out 666 signs and for all anyone knows he could literally be giving the "OK" sign.

I just said I hope it's not mocking. Here's 9 minutes of celebrities doing it. I guarantee you it's not the OK sign www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn3_y2dlc9E

Like you said, it’s between them and God and I’d prefer to keep it that way.

That's fine, I think I fell into too many rabbit holes, and that's why I'm annoyed. I like Donaldson as a baseball guy and his input on hitting. I realize it's just a stupid hand sign, the funny thing is I see it integrated into culture more and more. Like the integration of ugly tattoos stained on the youth.

"THE SIX — Josh Donaldson pays tribute to the city every time he crosses home plate by pointing three fingers from his left and right hands skyward. It’s also the number on Marcus Stroman’s jersey and a nod to local rapper Drake."
