The Braves are going to probably regret that I fixed it for you.

Suzuki's deal was 2/10. I'm okay with the Braves not matching that, especially if they already had their eyes elsewhere. The dollar figure per year doesn't bother me. I'm just worried that an aging player, especially a catcher might either become unproductive or get injured. The Nationals have more money than the Braves and are better equipped to absorb a potential bad contract. This deal just made more sense for the Nationals than it did for the Braves.

The fact that he got $10M for two years shows how insane he was to sign with us for one year (2017) at $1.5M. I said after the 2016 season we wouldn't be able to retain him because he'd be able to get a really nice multi year deal somewhere, probably as a starting catcher, after the season he had in 2016. It wouldn't have been with a real contender, but he would have gotten it somewhere. He really did us a favor with that deal and gave us another nice season in 2017.

I am happy for Zuk, and I don't even mind he's with the Nats. The reason why I've been so in on upgrading catcher is because I don't think he and/or Flowers are huge difference makers... especially now. I don't expect him to be a difference maker for them either, so I 'aint even mad, bro.

Wouldn't be my first choice, but a decent option I suppose... but I don't see that much difference between him and Suzuki. So would I want to give up a prospect or 2 for him in order to save a little money over what I could have just paid Suzuki.

He’s certainly a decent third option for the Braves.

Not much weight behind that one from what I understand. Now, if the Marlins want to talk Pache and Soroka, I'd be OK with that. We need Riley as insurance behind Donaldson. From what I hear, Waters may be a better OF option than Pache. And as much as I like Soroka's makeup, that injury last year has me a bit concerned.

Seems odd at best, given that we've already signed McCann for next season.
