The Braves today selected RHP Daysbel Hernández to the major league roster after optioning RHP Allan Winans to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Jesse Chavez was transferred to the 60-day injured list. Via AtlantaBraves

Johnson is a decent grab, but Hearn-- can't be anything more than depth. Johnson has been good outside of the pitcher's hell that is Coors Field.

Be careful what you wish for.......Bellinger has a .661 career playoff OPS in 267 PA's with a 33% K rate. He has a career World Series OPS of .432 in 69 PA's with a 42% K rate.
I know of a guy who has a career .908 playoff OPS....and was once a major player in helping his team win a World Series.
Plus the Cubs are only 3 games out of a wild card spot. If he is back to a level where he could be an asset, at least during the regular season, why would the Cubs trade him anyway?
He also has a mutual option contract for 2024 for $17.5M. I wouldn't trust him because of his horrible playoff record. Then the two possibilities is if either us or him declined the option he would have only been a two month rental. Or......we could both agree to 2024 and we'd have to pay him a lot of money, which would scare me because of his playoff performances as well as the fact he's also coming off of two horrible seasons. We don't need to have two Blowzunas next year.

Atlanta upgrades their bullpen. They acquire Colorado Rockies closer Brad Hand, who escaped a bases-loaded, no out situation last night vs. the #Padres.
The #Rockies are receiving Alec Barger in return.

The #Rockies are receiving Alec Barger in return. @byrobertmurray on it. That’s going to be pot luck…he can be really good but he has control issues. That seems to be a must for us. It’s company policy. All bullpen pitchers are required to have command issues. |

#Braves’ Ozzie Albies will go on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain, Snitker said after tonight’s game. They’ll bring up another infielder. I would guess Vaughn Grissom, but nothing announced yet. Nicky Lopez, who impressed again tonight, also likely to get more starts there.
