Soroka could be the next Sonny Gray. He may have a down year, might have a string of injuries. When someone is rolling like he was all year no matter the age then you start him twice. Personally, I’m over it and ready to see how we can make this a World Series team in 2020. What’s done is done. Learn from it and move on. Hopefully we will be in position where Soroka gets the opportunity to pitch more than once in the playoffs in 2020. That’s where we all want to be.

There’s a lot to be said about putting the odds in your favor as often as you can. Having a plan where Soroka only started once is not doing that. I agree with Nightman, I posted the same thing the other day. The real tactical mistake was planning on relying on Folty twice and Soroka only once. Folty was on a roll but much more susceptible to having a blow up game and those are killers in a short playoff series. I don’t think Snitker is a moron, even though I’ve called him that in the heat of battle. I do think he makes moronic decisions at times, but overall he’s just a guy with less than average ability to make good tactical decisions. Well I think this image tells why Snitker's judgment was clouded to use Soroka more than once in the Divisional Series and why Neck = choker in the post season. My new off-season avatar. Funny.......but sadly, true. Snitker loves him some low ceiling Markakis!

The reason I’ll never really get over it and just hope “we” learned from it is that I know Snitker won’t. I worried that he would cost us in the playoffs, and he did, and I worry that he will again. I agree with you on why we lost in the playoffs this year, but it’s still a massive flaw that he only used Soroka once. It’s quite possible using him twice would have won the series for us. I won’t claim we lost because Soroka only pitched once, but in my mind it was a huge advantage for the Cardinals.

We might have gone up 2-0 in the series if Soroka had started game one. It's a whole different world then. But hey, we signed Keuchel for postseason play, and by God he was gonna start even though he sucked at the end of the year.

Looking at Soroka’s September stats, he wasn’t exactly pitching his best at the end of the year either. Probably was wearing down just a bit ...

If he was wearing down he would have fit right in with all of our positional players. About 2/3 of the way through the season they said on TV that we had something like 6 players in the top 10 in all of baseball in number of games started.

You must go for the win now. Now I think Folty would be a solid 4 or 5 for us but we had to use him this yr in playoffs because our GM didn't get us the ace we needed he took a chance on DK who was no better than Jamie Garcia Wrong We had to use him in game twice in the series and in game 5 because our manager is a dolt. Had we used him as we should have used him, he would have pitched 1 game and in the 1st game he pitched in the playoffs this year he was fantastic, earning us the win. Snit is the best Manager in the NL. It's not his fault he didn't have a proven SP to pitch 2 games.

And we lost series because of one play... Acuna not running took the spirit and fight out of the team

David O'Brien @dobrienatl d'Arnaud had brief stops with Mets and Dodgers in 2019 but but spent most of season with Rays and hit .251 w/ 16 HRs and .745 OPS in 103 games (391 PAs) including .276 w/ 10 HR and .886 OPs in 150 PAs vs. LHPs.
He'll team with Tyler Flowers, who re-signed w/ #Braves for $4M.
We sign d'Arnaud for 2 yrs/ $16 Mil
