So we just need to add a 15 WAR cleanup hitter. OK I'll explain my reasoning we gained 7 games with Donaldson. So without him we lose 7 and go back to 2018 with less production from Catcher. But the BP should help. But in 2018 none of the NL East teams were as good as they are now. I think as we stand today we are not as good as 2018 and everyone else is better I also think from a mental level if AA does nothing else the team will mentally step back because they will feel let down and will feel they need to push to replace JD and guys will struggle. Freeman will feel pressure to hit 50HR and Acuna too just to make up for loss of power. And while you hate Ozuna the players remember what he did to them in the playoffs and it would give them a boost of energy to think he will do that for them if they make the playoffs plus him being Hispanic will be a huge plus with our younger players Maybe on the Disney channel

I don't think the players are worried about what AA does or doesn't do at this point.

We need to get this kid up here ASAP. From MLB.com............
Braves: Cristian Pache, OF (No. 1/MLB No. 11) He hasn’t been our top defensive prospect in the game for two years in a row for no reason. His range, instincts, reads and routes and arm in center field are all unparalleled. A prospect from another team recently talked about playing against him in 2019 and said, “a lot of doubles died that series.”

Writers are as dumb as most fans and giant drama queens. They have no clue what the big picture was here with the amount of money and risk for a player that age.
From the comments section (derp):
"This makes the loss of Donaldson infinitely more frustrating. How do you wait to the last minute to make an offer to such a key piece? I really never saw Anthopolous as this great GM, and now I question his competence."

I ponder the "fact" that no replacement (Ozuna or Castellanos) is in "Donaldson's Stratosphere". Oh My!

They seem to be assuming 4 more 2019s for Badhaircut. Maybe that'll happen, but I wouldn't wanna bet on it, and obviously neither would the Braves, especially in our division. Almost 40 games against Detroit and KC has to help his numbers. Hey, I'm glad he got paid. Good for him.

Writers and idiot fans always assume that way, like they always assume Harper is going to have thirteen years that match his one monster season. No concept of reality.

The thing about signing Castellanos is that if he plays up to par and becomes expendable due to the development of Waters and Pache, he'll have trade value. On the other hand, if we trade for Marte and have the same situation, we could buy him out (not saying we would, but we could). We'll have to wait and see how it all shakes out, eh?

Folks keep talking about the need for a #4 hitter, and that outside of Riley potentially becoming that guy, our team doesn't really line up that way. But ... What's wrong with Freddie batting cleanup? Here's what I would advocate for in 2021, assuming our prospects play out well:
1. 2B S Albies 2. LF S Waters 3. RF R Acuna 4. 1B L Freeman 5. 3B R Camargo/Riley 6. C R D'arneau 7. SS R Swanson 8. CF R Pache
