If we sign Castellanos what happens to Pache or Waters? At this point I would just play for 2021 WS and sign a veteran with some power to a 1 yr deal Move Ender and Duvall when one or both of them are ready. Castellanos is the bat we need behind Freeman, so you make it work. IMO

Alright, if the Braves get Castellanos, none of you are allowed to complain about his defense. That ^^

Alright, if the Braves get Castellanos, none of you are allowed to complain about his defense. How bad can it be? He had a -4.9 UZR/150 in 2019, which isn't horrible. Nick was a -8.5 so it looks like we'd be getting an upgrade on defense.

We are so obsessed with having a big bat it’s becoming counter productive. I want Happ’s contract and a prospect worth moving in a Marte package. Really wish Grandal was signed with our slew of early moves. The market is out of control right when we are in the middle of a competitive run. If he had waited I have no doubt he would command more money right now. Good on AA jumping guys early and likely saving some money.

I’m just saying, if you’re gonna argue for a player who you know isn’t good defensively, then you can’t complain when he isn’t good defensively. That’s all I’m saying. I’m gonna argue for JD cause I know he’s good both offensively and defensively. If he costs more money, so be it.

We need to start a new tread to keep track of all the things people can't complain about anymore.

Acuna could get injured day 1 and be out for the whole year. I suppose you can't complain about Castellanos poor play either then. At least I'll have the defense.

JD had a 2.1 UZR/150 in 2019, so good luck with the defense not regressing even more as he ages...and remember you can't complain if his defense does slip.

It's also worth noting that given his age, Castellanos should maintain good trade value should the need arise to move someone in the event that Pache and/or Waters earns a regular job.

I have some degree of trust that AA has and is looking at all options on the table.
I don't really think I would be better at GMing than he is, so until he proves himself to be a moron, I sort of trust he's doing due diligence and making the best moves he can.
I said a lot about Frank Wren when he was here, but that was because I had a fundamental team building philosophy difference in how our organization should be team building... his wasn't working. He had also made some proven errors in judgement with players.
I haven't reached that point with AA, so I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Can’t believe Jose Martinez got liberatore. He didn’t. That other OFer that starts with an A that the Cardinals gave up has a really high ceiling. Black guy named Randy, can’t think of his last name.
