yes Beltre is in his final year. he would be great in a Matt Kemp roll.. plays 5 days a week at 3rd.. getting defensive subbed when ahead. I like Moose.. just makes our lineup so LH IMO.. Little concerned about Beltre’s health. He missed quite a bit last year and is hurt again. Strained hamstring I think? That can be ongoing. Steroi...you know what nevermind

He can't play everyday.. He can't play every inning. sub his ass out late to give him breaks, then give him days off.. RF and Jo-gun are good enough to spell him. Twitner used Fat Kemp WAY TOO much and he collapsed. Dodgers are controlling his innings better and he is still producing.

from mlb trade rumours " Alex Anthopoulos 3:41 What’ll it take for me to get Moose? Steve Adams 3:42 Realistically, not much. J.D. Martinez was the best hitter in baseball last year and went for three mid-tier prospects in on of MLB's worst farm systems. Can't see Moose commanding all that much more than what he fetched" If they go for him might show how much they believe in the reality of present success Not sure Riley is ready and Camargo not scorching...and of course obviously no one believes in Flaherty

Any weaknesses on the braves? MLB rumours again===Steve Adams 3:51 The entire pitching staff? Beyond Newcomb and Folty, the latter of whom is going to regress to an extent, who in the rotation inspires confidence? McCarthy is in his mid-30s and hasn't been healthy since 2014. Teheran is throwing 88 mph and is already starting to regress. Soroka is really intriguing but is also the youngest pitcher in MLB.
And in the 'pen, they have Winkler, Minter and Vizcaino, but Carle can't keep up what he's doing given his lack of strikeouts and batted-ball profile, and the rest of the relief corps is a pretty patchwork crew.
The Braves are a really exciting young team, and they're going to be good for a long time, but there are plenty of problem areas around that roster right now that no one is focusing on because it's more fun to ride the positive vibes. Can't blame Atlanta fans, and what they've done to this point has made them legit contenders in the NL, but the pitching still needs lots of help.

They seem to be a pretty self-effacing group with some good bulletins and thoughts

BrycemanCometh, have you gotten to your offseason plans yet?
Catcher: Stay put here if possible. Lucroy was always an option here and could be again if he would again sign for cheap. He's looking like he might have to sign for cheap again, but I'm guessing he would only do so if he was given a majority of the playing time and I'm not sure if the Braves would be willing to go that far. Again, stick with what we have if possible.
1B: Freeman under contract
SS/2B: Albies will of course take one of these spots. The Braves need to upgrade from Swanson in the offseason. Who would the Braves sign/trade for? Brian Dozier hasn't started the season well. He still could be a good signing. Elvis Andrus? Daniel Murphy? Dansby can learn 3B and 1B during the offseason and be the second utility player or be traded.
3B: Riley will be on the MLB team at the start of the 2019 season at the latest barring injury
Outfield: Acuna, Markakis, Pollock or other?
As of now I'm all in on keeping Markakis. Ender would be traded.
Starting pitchers: Allard, Soroka, Gohara, Newcomb, Folty
As a veteran Teheran would have to be in the rotation or traded. The Braves would still have Fried and Wisler as depth. I don't anticipate the Braves signing an ace.
The Braves currently have one of the best teams in the NL. Three major signings/trades (2B or SS/OF/Reliever) would make the team quite strong and they would go as far as their young pitching could take them.

Three major signings/trades (2B or SS/OF/Reliever) would make the team quite strong and they would go as far as their young pitching could take them. I got another week and a half before I go in full rosterbation mode. It's the end of the school year so I haven't had a lot of time to think about it, but a couple thoughts I've had going through my mind. Catcher: If it seems obvious, by the end of the year, that one of Flowzuki is gonna bounce, I'm all for the Braves going after the remainder, between the two, hard, and going after McCann. A couple reasons why I think that move is possible. 1.) McCann already stated that he's open to finishing his career with the Braves. 2.) Next year is an option year for like $18 million. I don't see how the 'Stros pick that option up. Short Stop: My optimism for Swanson is starting to wain. Tonight was the first night where I thought Machado over Harper was a good idea. If Machado is a pipe dream, I don't think Dozier is the answer, but I haven't done any deep research on Dozier. I think the Braves might be better served to keep playing Swanson for another year, hoping for the best, and if it doesn't work then going after Schoop, Gregorious, or Bogaerts in 2020. Outfield: Answer forthcoming next week. Rotation: Answer forthcoming next week, but Teheran has to go one way or another. There's just no room for him anymore as it's becoming increasingly clear that the Braves will have better options next year. Bullpen: Still on the Andrew Miller hype train. I really think him, or a reliever similar to him, is a must for the Braves. I'm still on the fence about the Braves signing a closer. They're just so expensive on the open market.
