Thought this would be a cool tread where we could condense potential trade proposal threads and wishful free agent signing threads all in one place.
Off the top of my head, I'm gonna go with areas where I believe the Braves need to make an upgrade and some players who could fill those rolls.
RF - Ronald Acuna Jr. (obviously)
LF - AJ Pollock (but lately I've been going back to my original first choice, Michael Brantley)
3B - Austin Riley (can't wait to see how he does in AAA)
Closer - Craig Kimbrel (the prodigal son returns)
Set-up - Andrew Miller (I love the idea of the Braves getting him because he can pitch multiple innings if need be)
Ace - Madison Bumgarner (yep, still pushing this one)
All of these are free agent signings, but feel free to throw in some trade proposals if you want.

RF- Bryce Harper- this is gonna happen guys. We have the money and the need. LF- Acuna -he'll play left this year move into CF next year. 3rd base- Riley- he'll get the call next season Ace- Kershaw- I believe we are going all in next year. Closer- Minter.

RF - I'm not gonna argue against Harper. I'd love to see the Braves get him too. LF - If Acuna moves to CF, where will Inciarte go? Ace - You really think the Dodgers are gonna let him walk? I don't see how they can. Closer - No argument there. You don't foresee the Braves going after a set-up baseball guy? I don't see how they can't. As I previously stated, I think Andrew Miller is perfect. For one, every now and again, it seems, bullpen guys get the yips, and it's usually more than one at a time. Having a guy like Miller pitch 2 or 3 innings would help avoid such situations. For second, if Miller happens to get the yips, then the Braves could go with the typical 7th and 8th inning guys, who'd pitch an inning a piece. Then, for third, when the playoffs roll around, the Braves would have a guy in the bullpen they could rely on to pitch multiple innings late in the game. You know who I'm super interested in? Patrick Weigel. He's got electric stuff, and he'll be coming back from TJ surgery next year. I think with the rotation being crowded, the Braves could work him back in and call him up as a reliever, short term or long term. As a starter, he has shown the propensity to strike batters out and limit walks, he could be absolutely lethal coming out of the pen.

So.......you cats wanna give Bryce Harper over 25% of our payroll, huh? Dude can obviously play, but the gnats have never won anything, plus he's hurt a lot and a punk to boot. I'll pass.

I'm down with that. The Braves won't need that 25% for quite some time, when you consider the amount of young players that'll be on the team for years to come. Plus, chances are, the Braves will give him an opt out after years 3 or 4, which he'll obviously take.

We're not going to get Bryce Harper. Oh ye of little faith. The Braves can compete monetarily with any team. If Harper believes the Braves have the best team, he'll sign with them, and it can be argued that the Braves may have exactly that after this year, when you add Acuna, Riley, Gohara, and Soroka.

I didn't say we wouldn't be able... I just don't think we will.

I think there’s 0% chance we get Harper despite any talk we might go after him. After this rebuild, what caused it, and the fact we aren’t a top ten payroll team and won’t be, we’re not sinking that much money into any one player. Especially for so many years. Just because you can “afford” something doesn’t mean it’s a wise overall purchase.
And I agree with something somebody else said on top of that. Washington hasn't won jack poop with him anyway, and they’ve had some good teams. He does not have an impressive playoff pedigree.

I wouldn’t say 0%. We fill enough holes this year and structure his deal with the proper opt out and we can pay it without issue. Butts in seats is a concern as the newness of Suntrust wears off. Harper will do that moreso than any player we can sign in the next 5 years.
Albies / 600k Swanson / 600k Harper / 40 mil Freeman / 22 mil Acuna / 600k Riley / 600k Inciarte / 5 mil Jackson/Suzuki / 5 mil Tucker 600k/ Peterson/ 600k/ Camargo / 600k
Kuechel / 25 mil Folty / 5 mil Gohara / x Soroka / x Newcomb/ Wright/ Allard / x
Kimbrel / 15 mil Minter / x Possible Fried/ Wiegel/ Touki
Call it 140 mil for anything I may have missed.
Is this doable?

I don’t know if that payroll is doable. Here’s what I know, the Braves payroll this year is $118 million. They’re only on the hook for $38 million and have 7 players under arbitration. That’s $80 million right there.
If I had to choose between Kimbrel and Miller, I’d choose Miller.
Also, I’d rather wait a year for MadBum than see them go for Keuchel.

With all the money we have to spend next year and Acuna coming along, we BETTER not re-up Markakis. The only way I'd be ok with him is if we traded Inciarte (which I'm not opposed to), played Nick in LF and batted him 7th or 8th.

After the game, Phillies broadcasters were going on about how the Braves lineup is pretty darn good. Had me salivating at the idea of adding Harper in the middle. That said, though, this offense doesn't necessarily need Harper to be elite. Add Riley and a guy like AJ Pollock or Michael Brantley and they'd be just as good.
Braves absolutely need an Ace, though. I don't care if it comes from the prospect pile, trade, or free agency.
