So just to clarify... 6 for 180, and you are doing that deal, correct? Sure, why not? Ain’t my money. Freddie’s a better risk than most to bet that kind of contract on. My question is this……If the Braves have offered 5 years already, why ask for 6? It’s not as if the Braves haven’t treated him extremely well already. Well you had gone into detail about why it was a very risky move.

Because he has to have monies for his grandkids to goez to college. His grandkids will probably be a bunch of dope smoking losers since they’ll never have to work a day in their lives. My guess is that is very wrong.

Wow. If it’s about years and that makes FF walk, I can understand from FF end. Now if FF does leave I don’t mind Olson at all. We can even include Ozuna and pay his salary. I just don’t want him back at all. Oakland wants zero part of Ozuna, they want prospect capital No, I have no way of really knowing but its a pretty good assumption they do not want that and we are not eating all of his salary Honestly, I am not sure we have the prospect capital it would take to get him (Olson) or Chapman Unless you want to consider Langeliers, Harris and Mueller and those are the 3 I want no part of moving. Not even sure I want to move Shumake and Cusick for that matter. Cusick is a guy I hope can close by 2024. Will Smith expires next yr and the Kirby Yates sign is a replacement gamble for Will's departure for 2023 But I think other teams can do better than say, Pache and a couple of maybe young arms like Tucker Davidson and say, Spencer Strider.

If they wont do 6/180, thats 100% on Liberty Media, and not AA. If it was all up to AA. This deal would have been done last week. Liberty Media will forever be viewed as villains if they refuse to let AA sign freddie for 6/180 This is one of the very few issues where I think that LM would be involved They do not make baseball decisions most of the time but approval for 6/180, I think its a fair guess that Terry Mc Guirk has to go to his bosses to ask and get approval for this one. I would be surprised if the two big guys (Malone and Maffei) have chosen to have zero say on this one Anyway, this is going to go on some more given the lockout is about to begin. I don't think deals will be done for a while but while its not over well, whatever My hunch he he is gone, we will not have the prospect capital to get a Chapman or Olson and in the end we will have a platoon for a couple of league average guys to fill the void. Be prepared - I do not care what the rose colored glasses mindset says. It does not look good for right now on the Freddie thing and might be Plan C

That was a little mean. I hope he and the wife have success raising the kids, this has nothing to do with them. But if he goes, well that is business. He has made some money and he has helped make some $$$$$$ for the bosses. He owes it to his family to do what he needs to do. Not to say that I will not BOO plan C or D if it comes to that but I will not blame Freddie and even Alex and Mc Guirk for that matter.

Deals can’t be done during the lockout. Rather than trade our top prospects, I’d rather sign Rizzo. He’s a fit, I think, and the chop house should be right up his alley. Doesn’t matter anyway. Freeman will be a Brave. If he were gone, it would have been done already during the feeding frenzy the first of this week. He’s the best hitter on the market.

I am sort of meh on Rizzo who might be in decline but for what is available, I might see say, a two yr deal at most Not the 5 yrs he is asking - maybe he might be close to what he was in 2019 but he has not been that good the last two yrs The rest of FA man, its really junk after Rizzo. And no way I want to pay him 14 -15 mil per. Maybe 2 yrs in the low 20ish range. Maybe an incentive type of deal. I did say I did not want him but for what is left well, got to take what is there

The Braves naturally offered Freddie the deal that they would prefer, but for all we know they've already told him 6/180 and they would give him the freedom to see what else the market may offer because he has earned that right.
Many may assume we might be insulting him because he hasn't signed yet so it must be because we are sticking with our low ball initial offer, but we really have no idea what is going on. We may be giving him the ultimate sign of respect by giving him the chance to see what the free-market may offer.
At the very least there is no sense in the Braves getting into a bidding war with themselves, and we have seen zero evidence of any other team offering him anything.

Yeah, there's no buzz around him at all, which would seem like good news given that that's how AA operates.

All this conversation is nil until MLB & the Players reach an agreement.
I know. I'm Captain Obvious.

It kind of sounds that the Dodgers or Angels are willing to give FF the extra year he’s looking for. Well that’s what they are saying locally.

As of this moment in time, Freddie Freeman hit the last home run ever in the entire history of Major League Baseball.

Are you in So Cal? just curious that is all And I would in no way be surprised if they offer the 6 yrs he wants, in fact I would not be surprised if they (one of those So Cal teams) go one more and make it 7. That takes it to age 38 and its not crazy to think he can be productive over that time. If they offer that I say grab it. FF owes us nothing. I will still want to retire number 5 no matter what. Around here in ATL I have not heard much. Its more football talk with a little ATL United season getting under way. We are still in Dawg heaven for now and should be. Hey overall we are still a bit giddy about the Braves WC. Truth is we have no idea for now and nothing much can be done for now. I am surmising that we might have to go to plan B whatever it will be. Its all 50/50 to me for now.
