I agree with Uck... Whatever the cause and whatever the blame, I don't think Camargo will ever get it back here and his best chance is to move on. I don't think we can get much for him though and the best we could do is to make him part of a package deal. I actually think probably nobody is to blame. As they say, sometime sh** just happens. In hindsight the Braves did the right thing for us because of the season JD had. And maybe it's natural for a young player to lose his confidence like that and harbor some feelings that keep him from really feeling welcome and confident even when given a chance like Johan was this year. I'm sure in his mind he knew that despite what was being said publicly, the Braves held Riley in higher regard. And it's understandable they would because he has a higher upside. Riley plays almost as good a defensive 3B as Camargo, his only flaw I've seen is him struggling to field balls backhanded and maybe throwing on the run. But offensively there's no limit to what Riley MIGHT do with the bat and he's shown plenty of signs that he'll get it figured out.
I can't blame the Braves, and I can't blame Camargo if it bothered him and affected him. It happens in relationships where sometimes it's best for everybody to go their separate ways, and this is clearly one of those cases in my opinion. I do think the mistake that was made was not getting Camargo into games the first half of last year like Snitker said they would. If he had played at least 2-3 times a week maybe things would have played out differently.
I agree we'd have to package him and still not get that much back, but I really hope we find a way to move him that gets him back on the field somewhere and helps us out in some way too.

Trevor comments near the start of this video that Truist Park is maybe his favorite park. Hmmm......
The next video he posts in the next few days will be covering the 2 games we beat them, I can't wait to watch that one!

I would love to sign him. Dude is edgy and pretty much money, which is exactly what I think we need to put this staff over the top. Can you imagine Soroka, Fried, Bauer, Anderson, Wright, with Wilson showing some real promise.. and I still hold out some hope for Folty and Newk as possibilities. Extend Freddie and sign Bauer, both which I think are doable things, and wow..

David O'Brien @dobrienatl Freddie Freeman has one year left on an eight-year, $135 million contract, but he & the #Braves have made clear the mutual interest in re-upping. He reiterated that Monday. "I think Alex (Anthopoulos) and everyone knows, and the fans know, this is where I’d love to stay... (1/2) 31 112 1.3K
David O'Brien @dobrienatl Freeman cont.: "....This is my home. This is all I’ve ever known. I know I only have one year left (on his contract). We'll see how it goes. But this team is built to win for a long time and I know that. It’s going to be a good ride. Hopefully I can be a part of it.”

I told y'all that tomahawk chop when he left the game was a signal to AA that he'd like to play here. You heard it here first.

With the DH coming Ozuna has priced himself way out of our comfort zone. i don’t mind paying a true ace.
Plus we’ll have Nick to fill Ozuna’s place.

Nick couldn't fill the ballgirl's place. We really need someone to figure out Riley and hope we have a gem in Pache. I agree on paying a true ace.

I mean, he was obviously great this year, but his career numbers are in Julio Teheran territory. He's had 2 outstanding seasons, 2018 and 2020. Otherwise, his numbers are pretty pedestrian. We've all seen how quickly "ace" pitchers can fall off. Fact is, there aren't many true aces in existence.

It's impossible to know if a guy has taken his game to the next level, or if he simply had an outstanding season.
