Ynoa looking good tonight. If he can figure out how to get a little more movement on his fastball, he might be onto something.

Touki getting outpitched by Ynoa. That's a pretty low bar.

Darren O'Day is up in #Braves bullpen. Huascar Ynoa (5 K, 1 H, 4 scoreless innings) has been terrific but appears to have strained something and doesn't look like he'll be back.
Of course as he was pitching outstanding

Markakis needs to be benched. I wouldn't let Snitker hear me say that if I were you.

Todd Zolecki @toddzolecki Oh, boy. Jake Arrieta just grabbed the back of his right leg after throwing a pitch here in the top of the sixth. He is limping off the field.
Anthony DiComo @anthonydicomo I know Jake Arrieta hasn't been great this season, but given the Phillies' pitching problems, that's a massive blow. Have to think he's done for at least the regular season based on the way he reacted/limped off the field.
Matt Gelb @mattgel Oh my. Jake Arrieta is hurt. Looks like he pulled something bad on his 97th pitch.
Alex Carr @alexcarrmlb Jake Arrieta pitched thru bone spurs in his elbow for 30% of last season.
He just swiftly left this game after grabbing his leg post-pitch. He looked to be in a good deal of pain.
When Jake gives in to an injury, you know it’s not good news.

Don't go by WAR, use your eyes--can't you see he's a one tool player? He's just really good at that one tool, which is being a good/great line drive hitter. But what else does he provide? He seems steady in the OF to the casual fan because he almost never misplays a ball, but he doesn't cover much ground, no arm, no speed, no power.
And he'll be back with us again next year.
And the year after that.
And every year that Snitker is our manager.
Don't think he will be back next yr. For starters the OF should be projected to be Acuna and the two kids. Nick will be back even if it's supposedly as a bench player.
I hate to bag on him because I like him and I do respect his professionalism, and his ability to hit line drives. In another day and age that would have been a lot more valuable than it is in modern baseball.
But if you'll look just at OPS, which to me is a really good stat because it tells us how much a guy gets on base and how much power he hits with (and doubles do count as "power" in OPS), Nick ranks 78th in OPS among outfielders since he came to us in 2015. Throw in his lack of coverage in the OF and lack of an arm, and I just don't see why we should be happy settling for this, we could do a lot better without breaking the bank.
