I've also heard the NL will probably use the DH for this, and I'm actually ok with that because theoretically it gets Riley and Camargo's bats both in the lineup, and they both had really good springs.....but in reality we can probably bet on Snitker using it as a way to get Nick in the lineup.
We need a season of some kind, its good for all - getting bored cause regular TV and entertainment this day in time does not do it for me. I do think the Bachelor stuff should be illegal, if I were dictator the Bachelor and Judge Judy would be off the air yesterday Its time for the universal DH all the way around Just works better and easier as long as we have inter league play, also the AL is never giving up the DH and the players union will not stand for it, so lets work for the best for the game's future and play by the same rules no matter what park you play in

Rays ace Blake Snell says he refuses to play for reduced MLB salary www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29174318/rays-ace-blake-snell-says-refuses-play-reduced-salaryWhy would he expect to be paid for a full season when only playing half? Go on unemployment like everyone else has to do. Sounds like an entitled brat. A healthy young guy afraid of coronavirus. Boy, the media has instilled fear, haven't they? Maybe he'll refuse to play when the seasonal flu is around to because, according to the CDC, that is just as deadly to someone like him as the coronavirus. Maybe he should refuse to drive because he might be in a car accident (nearly 40,000 people killed every year in vehicle accidents). Maybe he should refuse to fly because it's dangerous. Life has risks...get over it!

That is the kind of S#it that sometimes makes me want to say to hell with them all But I do not think that is the attitude of most of the players, hell, the owners need revenue to pay these salaries of today it is a two way street. And I am very much pro player for the most part I hope fans are knowledgeable to Boo him at home or on the road when they do get to come back. btw, he was not that good last yr right? Remember that fans - Blake Smell, that is his name

They're going to screw this up over greed, and I don't think they can afford to do that (no pun intended).
Baseball has been losing interest in it, we all know younger generations don't care for it, and the fans who do care are still pissed about all the cheating and no punishment.
The last thing they need to do now is go ahead and sit out the whole season.
I would actually consider giving the whole lot of them the finger forever if they do manage to screw this up.

I expect them to screw it up They have done it before. Putting it in perspective, Bud Selig was not that bad a commissioner. Sure there were PED issues, and minor issues like the tie All Star game (big deal) but under his watch you had baseball after that 94 strike. There was cooperation between labor and management for the most part. Selig was not heavy handed like a Bowie Kuhn back in the day Before long, I fully expect MLB to be behind the NFL and NBA and keep it up will be behind soccer in another generation Since the game is in my blood, I will still watch and go back to it. Tony Clark, Rob Manfred, Blake Snell, etc, to hell with them Blake Smell has not done enough to run his mouth, he is acting like he is Tom Seaver or Bob Gibson with his attitude. One great yr, big deal

You know, the NHL seems to find a way to get their act together in this time. And I hope that league does find a real foothold, there is a great tradition in this league - its growing. Too bad we had such bad ownership in Atlanta, what should have been.
I am kind of an NHL historian, like baseball there is a great history of the sport - the eras, the personalities, the teams, etc
Why can't our sport get it together - too many things to put in one post. Players union while serving a purpose does not help. At least in this dispute, no fans in the stands buying tickets and concessions, how can you expect a full prorated pay. The business of MLB as we know it in this century stinks. Please players, do not hurt the game

They screw this up, the owners better get used to playing big league games in front of 10,000 fans, because that's what they'll be doing within a few years.
They need to look at what happened to NASCAR when they tried to diversify and move their racing out of the South. You f*** with a good thing you may never recover, and baseball could be heading for a real shock if they don't get this together this year.

HA HA -- so much for 30 million plus per yr for starting pitchers that can't complete games like they used to do What would Bob Gibson and Tom Seaver be worth in the 21st century. I don't even get NASCAR anymore, and racing in stages, that is something I do not understand. Was never a NASCAR fan but would watch a race in part if nothing was on

Was never a NASCAR fan but would watch a race in part if nothing was on I was a really big NASCAR fan for a long time but they have completely destroyed the sport since the day Brian France took over in 2003. I can't watch and haven't in a long time now, and my son-in-law has a pretty big job with one of the teams and I know several people in the sport. I lived in Mooresville, NC for 15 years, the home of NASCAR and all the teams. What a waste, and they had it so good.

Greg Bird DFA'd by the Rangers today.
Wasn't there a day where he was considered one of the top prospects in the game?
He's really struggled the last 3-4 years.
