The problem with Julio isn't really his overall numbers, it's how he gets there. He's wildly inconsistent. No runs today, 8 runs tomorrow.

Over the years, most times I have been able to tell when Julio just doesn't have it early on. For some reason our managers haven't and let him in to get hammered.

Julio is so inconsistent he once threw a pitch that read to be 92 mph and 80 mph.

Julio is so inconsistent he once threw a pitch the ump called a strike and he argued with him.

All I'm saying is... don't be surprised if Julio puts together an All Star season. That just seems the way it works for the Braves.

Remember when we wanted Moncada AND Benintendi for Teheran and wouldn’t consider Devers?

You know with JD being a odd guy. Maybe a 6 yr deal for about them same money as what he is being offered for 4yrs would get him signed. He could maybe be a good cheap bat off the bench the last few yrs.. Or if he has 2 great yrs maybe we could trade him

I've said all along that if Badhaircut really wants to be a Brave, that we should get creative with a contract that will continue paying him after he's done playing. Taking a 4-year hit of $25 per doesn't work for me, though.

Overall, Julio's career as a Brave can be called good. Not in the big 3 or Knucksie category but as the overall numbers go, yes, a bit inconsistent, at times frustrating but solid mid rotation numbers and durability with good numbers if innings pitched
He just does not have the velocity and exciting SO's that the analytics look for in today's game
But I would give 9 million for a yr to Julio over the stupid 9 million that SF gave to Gausman who has been more inconsistent with back of the card numbers not close to Julio. Especially after last yrs performance.
Now the 9 mil to Gausman, that was stupid money.

If it takes the 4 yrs to keep JD and the Braves get back to the series for 2020 and 21 and even win one, hey for me that is worth it. Heck, lets win em both back to back
And who knows what the next collective bargaining thing is going to be as far as guys being under team control, I can see the union fighting for 4 yr free agency
So in essence, I want to be as good as we can be for the next two yrs and let the future take care of itself, thank goodness our team is not in the excuse making "rebuilding" stage anymore. Good riddance to that
Win NOW baby hell, its not my money

With the Braves in two years (2017,2018): 184 PA, 171 AB, 3 HR, 24 RBI, .199 AVG, .596 OPS 2019 with the Rangers, 511 PA, 474 AB, 28 HR, 81 RBI, .283 AVG, .857 OPS Could this be Camargo with regular playing time???
