Especially for that much money. JD will get 4yrs too and Rendon will get 6-10 yrs.. The braves will now how no 3B who can protect Freeman in fact it looks like the braves will take a step back. But hey AA did get us another yr of Flowers and brought in the only catcher in baseball who is worse than flowers defensively. But hey he could Panic now and bring Villar in to hit. 240 with 20hr and in Atlanta he could steal 25 bags. But hey he had a good war Do you make a concerted effort to be a moron 100% of the time or does it just come naturally to you?

Really wish we had a guy who has put up a 4 WAR season at third and is only 25 on the roster. I can’t remember, how did the offense manage while our 3rd baseman struggled mightily the first part of the season? If the value isn’t there and the risk is deemed too high in free agency then in season acquisitions is always on the table with AA. This offseason is trending back toward the old ways of compensating for previous performance. We have to be smart.

Do you make a concerted effort to be a moron 100% of the time or does it just come naturally to you? Concerted effort implies it was a group,I cringe at the thought there is more than one of em I really hate to hurl personal insults, even at him and Westie, but damn.
A good tip would be if he's going to make a claim, be able to support it with actual numbers, or at the very least, some numbers that are remotely close. He shouldn't throw out gibberish numbers that aren't even in the ballpark and make him look like a fool.
If we want to stay away from WAR, then let's look at basic numbers for Villar for the last four years--he hit .241 once, and these are his other three seasons:
.285/.369/.457/.826 .260/.325/.384/.709 .274/.339/.453/.792
During those 4 years he stole 62, 23, 35 and 40 bases.
If we want to talk about a .240 hitter, let's look at our current SS the last three years:
.232/.312/.324/.636 .238/.304/.395/.699 .251/.325/.422/.748

Good to see that Dansby’s numbers are at least trending upward

Good to see that Dansby’s numbers are at least trending upward While that is true overall, he also did this after the all star break this year:
.204/.315/.254/.569
He's played 3 full seasons with us now and has proven only one thing, and that is that he is wildly inconsistent. At the end of the day he has compiled 3.9 WAR over those three seasons. So how long are we ok with having a 1.3 WAR SS?
I've supported him fiercely his first two years, I've tried to be patient, and I've rooted for him every day, but his inconsistency drives me nuts. That's one of those things that doesn't show up in stats, and to me it really matters a lot. I've always felt we hurt his progress when we put him out there every single day when he was in his really bad slumps because his confidence was obviously destroyed, but we kept throwing him out there. I do think he has slowly progressed overall, but I feel like he probably maxed out this season, we just saw his ceiling. And his power numbers will suffer if MLB goes away from the juiced balls.

He is a career. 261 hitter who has hit 20HR in 1 season and it happened to be in the AL east with juiced balls. Against horrible pitching. And in Atlanta Ricky Henderson wouldn't steal 40 bases so Villar only above average asset is useless... Camargo is better option for 3B

We were 9th in all of baseball in SB this year, but somehow we're where base stealers go to die.
Not to mention other problems (that I've already mentioned) with your "argument" if one could call it that.

so we may as well sign Jed Lowery if he is FA he is basically the same value as Villar. Only difference in the 2 is Villar SB and Lowery Defense.. Other than that they pretty similar

In fact Lowery 2018 was better than Villar 2019. In the bogus analytics.. War 5.0 to 4.0 and 123 wrc to 106 wrc.

the Marlins have acquired infielder Jonathan Villar from the Orioles, as Craig Mish of MLB Network first reported (via Twitter).
