You know, it's funny. I grew up driving F-150s, F-250s, and larger trucks. My dad was in the grading business. I've never owned or even had the desire to own such a truck as an adult. They burn a ton of gas, they're a pain to park, and I just don't see the use of it. I keep an old Ford Ranger for the rare times when I need a pickup, and I've owned a couple of Toyota trucks in the past. Now, it seems everybody drives these oversized trucks, and most have no real use for them. To each his own.....

I had two Ford trucks, one was a '76 F-150 with the shifter on the column and the other was an '84 F-250. They were both great trucks. Now I have a '97 Chevy work truck that has been a godsend, it's a small truck by today's standards. These trucks people are driving today are nuts. Quad cabs and they look like they're 40 feet long, and they aren't even using them for work, just as their daily driver. They have to cost $40K? I paid $12K for my '84 Ford when I bought it brand new and I worked it. I just don't get the current thinking on these huge ass trucks.
I've also got a '53 Chevy I've been working on forever, hoping to finally get it painted this spring or early summer then I'll be done sinking money into it.

A friend of mine in the car biz told me he's seen $1200/mo payments for these big shiny trucks. A lot of young guys living with mom and dad are at $800/mo or more. Like I said, to each his own, but for me, when all is said and done, the vehicle I drive every day gets me from point A to point B. Now, having a toy like a loaded up '70 Chevelle would be awesome, but that's a different ballgame from your daily driver.

Like I said, to each his own, but for me, when all is said and done, the vehicle I drive every day gets me from point A to point B. Now, having a toy like a loaded up '70 Chevelle would be awesome, but that's a different ballgame from your daily driver. Yeah my 99 Accord just turned 300K and I drive it all over the planet. I've always been that way. My next car is going to be a nice used Lexus IS, that will be the first nice car I've ever had. But I won't buy new, it's such a waste of money. These used cars have done my great my whole life, but I've stuck with Hondas.
My dream car was a Chevelle when I was a kid, I had a guy in our town had a red one sitting in his yard for years and wouldn't sell it to me. After I got older I decided I like the old Novas better. Then about 5 years ago I was talking with my son-in-law, he had bought a 1972 Chevy Nova for $500 and put a motor in it and sold it for $1500. I was pissed! He never even told me he had it! I would have bought that in a second for $1500, and he said it was in great shape just needed a paint job, that killed me.
I have a friend who has a '70 Chevelle the same color as the one you posted, he does all kinds of car work and basically built the entire car from just the shell, even painted it himself, one of the best paint jobs I've ever seen.
I like these black Chevelles. I like them a lawt:

I agree spring training will be a good measure of where Riley stands. I could tell he had trouble with fastballs too, I just assumed it was because he was so mentally screwed by the breaking stuff. It’s pretty common for all hitters to fall into that zone when they’re struggling with breaking stuff. They’re doing so much thinking in the box and while the pitch is coming they get hesitant and it slows them down on fastball reaction. The thought that he was mentally screwed due to sliders has been the prevailing theory; I thought that as well. After reading the article, though, it was clear that it actually wasn’t. I guess good sliders has always been an issue for him, as well as most rookies when they first make it to the majors. So, it’s easy to chalk it up to that because it’s so common. I think we didn’t really notice his struggles on sliders when he was mashing.

No one outside of power lifters in training should be going to the gym and doing dead lifts. I will run over all of you with my F-250 Power Stroke Diesel There is certainly a risk reward with dead lifts, but not nearly as bad as normal squats. Normal squats should not be done by regular joes. Dead lifts, on the other hand, can be done by regular joes, but only if they remember to start the lift with their legs and not their lower backs.

I've got 3 friends who are personal trainers... none of them have people do dead lifts. The only people I ever see do them are a couple of roided up muscle-heads who grunt a lot as they try and out-man each other before they go to the showers and stare at themselves in the mirror. Ya, it's the risk/reward aspect of dead lifts. A lot of people lift with their backs, when they should start with their legs. Some people never get it down, so trainers just avoid having them do it. It's not actually easy to start with your legs, some forget and some just have weaker legs, so I can see why some trainers avoid it. I was trained how to do it, so I do it. Traditional squats, though, are much more difficult of a lift to get the hang of.
