]I think they learned from the past- Liberty went all in on Tex, JD to win NOW-crushed their future (meanwhile the angels show us just how valuable a compensation pick is). Uggla, Melvin, and trade for Justin- failed. Even if we won a championship, it’s all about what have you done for me lately to generate revenue of butts in the seats. IMO Liberty is on the same page with the fans whether we realize it or not. Suntrust is closer to their base with an amazing fan experience. The battery is asset they own that is getting paid off rapidly, win win. Longterm success yields revenue for sure but also helps strengthen a valuation of the team. They bought a dynasty turned dud, sure all teams became more valuable over they years but not from their own doing in most cases. In order to sell high one day (trust me they can find another tax incentive company to buy) they need to appear in October for years to come and avoid the “win now” mentality. Truist and the battery is one of the top 5 things that has happened to ATL Braves in its ATL history Only things I rate above it is 1991 story and turnaround season, the 95 WS championship and of course Hank Aaron's number 715. So guess Truist and the battery is ranked number 4 in my book Plenty of discussion to show how positive this had been overall

Bryant officially has 2 years of control left. Braves pursuit? Yay or nay? I'm a nay.

Bryant officially has 2 years of control left. Braves pursuit? Yay or nay? I'm a nay. Depends on what they want in return. They really have the luxury of not being in a spot where they HAVE to move him, they aren't rebuilding, they can dangle him and if somebody wants to give up 3-4 really good players/prospects then they can take it. I expect I won't want to give up what it will take to get him. I would bet it would be two of Waters/Anderson/Wright/Riley type of thing and then one or two other pieces.

The guy definitely has some question marks regarding his back, he's been a negative UZR/150 player the last two years and been a 2.3 and 4.8 WAR player those two years. Not a slouch, but not an elite level with no question marks that I'm willing to give up 3-4 really good pieces for in return for two years of service.

Fangraphs had Bryant at 2.3 and 4.8 WAR the last two years, they're my default because I can navigate their entire site so much easier, Baseball Reference actually has his WAR at 1.9 and 3.6 the last two years.

That much variance in WAR tells me WAR is pretty useless. A stat should be a stat should be a stat. Anyway, I'm not against pursuing him, but if the price is something like Riley, Waters, and Wright +, which I suspect it will be, I'm out.

I don't have a problem with the two sites having different numbers, it's never been an exact science. It's just a good way to compare players. To me if you want to compare one player against the other just make sure you use the same site. They just have different formulas, which is fine by me since it's just a rough comparison.

So, it's not a stat, because stats don't vary. Not an exact science........hmmm. What exactly is it? An opinion? How can there be that much difference? OPS is REAL. That's why I like it. Anyway, I don't wanna argue about WAR. I wanna argue about Kris Bryant! LMAO
