I say we bang a trash can every time there is a breaking ball signaled. Brilliant!
This is such a quicker and simpler fix!
What could possibly go wrong?

No Pache? That's strange. He's on the 40 man roster. He gets an automatic invite.

No, I don't find it hard to believe at all.
I don't know what the total money was on any longer deal, and if was able to get a 3-4 year deal now then he can get one next year as well.
I would bet the 1 year deal with us paid him more than he would have maid in any year of a 3 year deal, and he's betting on his health and ability to have an even better year than he did last season and therefore be able to secure an even better 3-4 year deal next season.

That sounds really crazy to me. The offers he got for more than one year must have been really bad. Like 3 years for $40M or worse. He’s taking a risk that he blows that shoulder out this year all the way or has a 0.5 WAR season and gets even worse offers after this season. It could go either way.

I think it says a lot about the players we are signing who could get a multi year offer. They are hungry, believe in themselves, and plan to go all out to show what they are made of. They also understand that worst case your career ends after this year that 18 mil is more than enough to set you and your family up for life.

Well, he shouldn't lack motivation, which is a plus for los Bravos.

While that’s all true, $18M isn’t $40M or whatever the offers were that he got! Anyway it’s a world I can’t comprehend either way, that’s for sure. I realize if he has a great year he might get an $80M offer after this season, good luck to him I’d love to see him kill it this year even if it means he prices himself out of our reach.

This is true, the Cardinals were real pissed at him because he did not rehab his shoulder like he was supposed to after the surgery and he came to spring training overweight and out of shape. Hopefully we don’t have that issue with him, we shouldn’t.

It doesn't matter. We're doomed this season anyway. Most of Vegas has us winning the East and probably having the best record in the NL.
That means we probably finish 3rd.
We've won the division when predicted to finish 3rd or 4th...
