What level draft pick will the Twins give us? I think it's like 73rd overall? I might be wrong, but seems I saw that somewhere.

I did read that our last qualifying offer we had given was in 2014 to Ervin Santana, and when he rejected it and signed with the Twins we got their first round pick, which was 28th overall, and with that pick we selected Mike Soroka. w00t.

Is Trey Mancini an option? Haven't heard his name much but he does have several years(3?) of control. Not sure what it would take but a top rated pitcher or position player and an add in might do it. Don't know much about his defense (I assume he's serviceable but a bit below average) but the guy can hit. His home/road splits are nearly identical and he was consistent power-wise. He really only had one down month in BA but still hit 7 HR that month. Season OPS was .899. His lowest month OPS was .747. He can also back with Freddie at 1st base. His salary is less than $6M this year.

They're both originally from Florida, which shouldn't hurt our chances if we decide we want one or the other of them.

I really want to see Austin get his shot, have the pressure off, coaching staff tell him to relax and focus and see where he will be around June 15th or so I am rooting for him he seems like a good kid who makes improvements when he gets some experience at the next level Go get em Riley, who says he cannot do what Mike Schmidt did his first two yrs, sure Schmidt really struggled his first yr and his second yr, well, that began his great run. I do not know if he can be that good but what if he is? Problem solved - I like this kid the way he deports himself, I wish a great career for him

Does Castellanos cost a draft choice, just too lazy to look it up
I think Ozuna costs the pick and his D has declined
I cannot see the Braves going more than 2 yrs given that Waters and Pache will be in the future, its not in this orgs DNA to really go long term, guess the Melvin Upton and Dan Uggla disasters were a lesson in spending
I might do the same thing if I were in charge

And there's so many good young players now you're more likely to strike gold after the first round.

Yet another reason to go with Nick over Marcell, if we decide to go that way
