Yes, but you don't know that he would have brought Luke in, either. Maybe he was just getting in work. I think that's a big stretch. For many years now most managers have that philosophy with the 9th coming up when you don't know if it's going to be tied or not. Have the closer ready in case you have the lead and have another guy ready in case it's tied. I just can't for the life of me understand why he'd have Luke up there instead of Greene, Greene has been really good for 6 weeks.
The only work Luke needs to be getting in right now is maybe cleaning the toilets after the game.
Now I can't get the image out of my head of you wearing an apron and taking cookies out of the oven and running the vacuum cleaner while our closers are taking years off the lives of the rest of us.

Luke is either real good or real bad we could have got good luke When Greene had a good inning the first game and Luke didn't, then you don't put Luke in before him. This isn't the regular season when you try and get the guy back on track. These are must win games. Didn’t we run Melancon back out there and get him back on track?

Not dogging on Snit tonight, but a legit question.... 1-1 going to the bottom of the 9th... Are YOU bringing in Luke Jackson? So we're still debating something that didn't happen? Just for the record, there no way in Hades I would have done that.

I like Snitker, I hate him as a tactical manager.
Are you going to defend his plan to bring in Luke if it was tied going to the bottom of the 9th? You really think that would have worked out well for us?
Luke is either real good or real bad we could have got good luke His ERA is about 6.00 since the All Star break. And he's not been good at any point since then the later the games get.
With their prime hitters coming up, there's no doubt what the outcome would have been. After Goldschmidt's 600 foot homer off Luke the other day, he would hit an 800 footer tonight.

Just for the record, there no way in Hades I would have done that. I'm not debating anything. I asked a yes/no question and I thank you for the response.

Luke has been consistently horrible for over two months.

Also he had a 3 run lead which gave him plenty of leeway. Bringing in Luke when there's better options is just stupid.

On a different subject....
That was pretty clutch of Dansby to make them pay so much for walking Big Mac to get to him.

I have to admit that sometimes I can't watch either. It comes from a lifetime of letdowns. And there's no worse way to lose a game than have your bullpen blow it at the end. Truly a dagger to the heart when that happens.
Which reminds me, I have to go read the Cards board so I can soak in their pain and agony and misery!!!

For what it’s worth David O'Brien @dobrienatl · 12m If Keuchel tells #Braves he's ready to do it, I think they'll start him tomorrow on short rest and have Teheran ready to go in early if need be.

Confidence and lack of it seems to really affect him, this should really boost his confidence.
Now if we could get 3, 4 and 5 going.....but big double by J.D. at least to start the 9th. When he hit that my first instinct was that he hit it too low and the third baseman would catch it. Did you see the replay from the outfield? That sucker had about an 6 foot curve on it. Edman actually got a glove on it, but between the velocity and the curve he had no chance to catch that.
