Mike Soroka, RHP, 13-4, 2.68 ERA, 142 K's Soroka will take the hill as the series shifts to St. Louis. The star rookie had a 1.55 ERA on the road this season, the best road ERA by any pitcher since Roger Clemens (1.32) in 2005. Soroka allowed no more than three runs in any of his 16 road outings, including two runs or fewer in 14 of those 16.
vs
Adam Wainwright, RHP, 14-10, 4.19 ERA, 153 K's The veteran Wainwright gets the ball for his 25th career postseason game, and 13th start, as the NLDS goes back to St. Louis. Wainwright has a 3.03 career playoff ERA -- including an outstanding 1.72 mark at Busch Stadium.

Wainwright was nails at home this year, but he did give up 12 hits and 6 earned runs at home last weekend to the Cubs B lineup when the Cardinals were trying to choke away the division title.

I hate the Cardinals. I want to punch them in the throat. What pisses me off about them is that their last two World Series teams weren't very good teams, neither of those teams had any business winning it all, and now they think because they got lucky twice like that it's going to happen again every year. A lot of them really believe they're going to win the whole thing this year, and there's no frigging way that's going to happen.

They come off as if they have some divine right to win championships... and their fans are condescending; thinking that they know more about baseball than any other fanbase.

I admonish them all the time in the the forum of theirs I post in for their arrogant entitlement attitude.

As a lover of birds, I’m offended by the Cardinal’s logo as the bird appears to have a mean disposition. In addition, the practice of “beaking” fans’ heads by the mascot misrepresents the cardinal to be an aggressive bird.

I saw that. I see Levi Walker (Chief Noc-A-Homa) from time to time at Native American festivals and I once asked him about the mascot thing. He said that 95% of Native Americans were not offended by it, and those that were - were generally just trying to push some political agenda. He said white folk made more of a big deal about it than they did. So yeah... ear hole.

Here’s some more fodder.....there was an article on The Athletic last night that Bader was pissed off at the Braves pitchers because they wouldn’t throw him fastballs yesterday. I guess we hurt the snowflakes feelings by taking advantage of his weakness.
"It is comical, but it is what it is," said Harrison Bader, who struck out in all three plate appearances without seeing a single fastball. "That's their plan of attack, and I can only speak for myself, but I failed to adjust. It's pretty obvious, you know, I handle fastballs pretty well and I just need to continue to work on sliders, recognition and understanding where I need to start for me to handle them. But they're going to hang them, so I'll be ready when they do."
A couple of minutes later, Bader used some more colorful language to describe the Braves' repertoire on this particular night. In a testosterone-driven game such as baseball, even other pitchers sometimes ridicule pitchers who refuse to challenge hitters with fastballs. ————————————————————- Funny thing, Flaherty and the Cardinals threw more breaking balls than the Braves pitchers did, so they’re really bigger underhanded meanies.
Good grief.......

In addition, the practice of “beaking” fans’ heads by the mascot misrepresents the cardinal to be an aggressive bird. I’ve often said similar things, we could all be offended by all kinds of things if we wanted to be. One of the things that gets me is the mentality that even though 45,000 people like something and one person doesn’t, the 45,000 should change their behavior. If I’m that one person I might say I don’t like something but I wouldn’t expect the 45,000 to change their behavior for me. The comments section on that article raked him over the coals. But the chant and chop drives Cardinals fans nuts, they despise it, it’s in their heads big time. They want a Constitutional amendment to ban it. So enjoy it even more now knowing that.

So it appears after further conversation that Bader literally called the Braves p***ies for not throwing him fastballs. If we get up 8-0 I’d bounce a fastball off his skull then go tell him “there ya go, there’s a fastball for you.”
