My argument backed up with data and studies, your argument--YOU'RE WRONG!
lol....
And for the record, I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, so you don't have to get so wound up, nobody is going to come around and walk on your lawn or anything, I'm just stating my opinion. Oh and backing it up.
I'm not wound up at all, just correct, which you might be mistaking for "wound up" 😉 Data and studies mean more to you than to me. I like the GAME, and umps are part of it. You wanna slow the game down even more and drive even more people away from it by using a computer to call balls and strikes? Geezus. LMAO "And behind the plate tonight, we have an Apple Atlas 5000U, better known as PerfectoUmp, which is correct 110% of the time" How would it slow the game down? It would do the opposite. The call would be instantaneous and literally no arguing balls and strikes. And when you use capital letters and keep insisting you are right (on something that has zero chance of you being right) then you are wound up. You’re just stating your opinion, that’s all. You’re perfectly welcome to believe you’re right, but it’s just your opinion. If you’ll note, I’ve never said I’m right, just stating my opinion. Well, and backing it up.

PerfectoUmp to the rescue!! No more arguing balls and strikes, because no man can possibly argue with the mighty machine. Games played in 1 hour! Thanks to PerfectoUmp the game is now, well, perfecto! Coming soon: PerfectoPlayer, because the game must be perfecto!
(All in good fun, bro)

This is actually interesting and quite open to debate and discussion, but not the way you're going about. End of ridiculous "discussion" for me.

Regarding the instant replay doesn't work all that well argument; I would note that the problems with instant replay mainly exist because there is often still a human making a judgement call. Just because he has slo-mo replay doesn't change the essence of what is being done.
Often the issue is a human judgement call of what constitutes clear evidence and what is "enough to overturn". So computer balls and strikes is really a different animal.
Also... in this specific matter, opinion is opinion. There is really no right or wrong.

There is really no right or wrong.I was trying to say that, what I was getting at specifically is that at this point in time there's no right or wrong. Which is why I haven't tried to claim I'm right. If they try this, someday we'll know if it was a good idea or not, but for now there's absolutely no way to know, all we have is each of our own opinions.

Well in my opinion...
Regarding changing baseball rules, someone has to prove to me that the new way is better before I will be okay with it. I almost never have a "sounds good.. do it" attitude, and I don't regarding this either. I don't want MLB to try it and find out later if it is good or bad.
Before the game is changed, I want the changes implemented in lower leagues and vetted quite a bit. Initially though I just don't like the sound of it. As with many other things people claim are wrong, I have rarely thought them wrong enough that something MUST be done quickly.
Plus I still would rather see a merit system in place for these fools, because the fact that there really are no repercussions for sucking at their job is the real issue. I get the more significant impact of robo-ump for balls and strikes, but a merit based system would make them better in the field as well.

I get the more significant impact of robo-ump for balls and strikes, but a merit based system would make them better in the field as well. The first sentence in the article I linked in my first post in this tread:
"An electronic radar system called TrackMan will soon be calling balls and strikes in the Atlantic League, an independent East Coast league that has emerged as MLB's testing ground for new rules and equipment initiatives."
I've been calling for better ball and strike calling for at least 10 years, the whole time just watching it get worse and worse. You're not wrong that the first step should be (in my opinion "should have been") to clamp down on the umpires to get better. Each umpire has had the ability for a long time now to look at charts after each game and see how they did calling balls and strikes. Just doing that alone would have made them better. But at minimum their bosses should have been doing it and demanding better performance. So I grew tired of it many years ago, I'm fed up, to me the time has passed to start demanding they get better, we have the modern technology to get the right calls, so let's use it. Again just my opinion.

Yes I know it is being tried.
I'll wait to see how it works.

I didn't leave out that part, it wasn't there when I quoted you.
No need to apologize for accusing me of leaving that out, it's all good.

Here's the thing. In order to debate a topic, one must first accept the premise of said debate. Man-made global warming, or climate change or whatever the name of it is on a given date, is a perfect example. I don't argue with people about it, because I reject their premise. The same thing applies here. I simply reject the notion that having a computer call balls and strikes is a valid argument. HMF's idea of holding umpires accountable is much better. IMO.

If you're going to reject a premise and refuse to debate, then you can't just tell someone they're wrong and back that statement up with nothing and not expect to hear about it. And it's particularly inappropriate to tell someone they're wrong when the person is just stating their opinion and there's nothing available yet to prove the person is wrong. When there's no proof either way, nobody is right and nobody is wrong, everybody is just saying what they think.
