I believe your first sentence diminishes the value of getting players to sign extensions. So, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

What is meant by the sentence is that while those players and the extensions are valuable, any gm could have pulled it off. From an accomplishment perspective it does not in any way make AA exceptional as a Brave.

I'd say we have shown we're still competitive and we still have literally ALL of our cards, that says something. I think it's going to take at least 2-3 more years before we can start judging AA one way or the other.

From an accomplishment perspective it does not in any way make AA exceptional as a Brave. Okay, but not any gm pulled it off, he did. If you think any GM can lock up a young player to an extension, I got one name for you; Francisco Lindor. He's walking, and the Indians could have locked him up, but didn't.

Another good example would be Coppy/Hart--they could have locked up Astudillo and didn't.

Alex has done a good job since he has been here - and the extensions to Acuna and Albies were shrewed smart moves
He inherited an organizational morale mess and importantly brought stability to the on the field product (one thing he did was develop an anayltics department that was useful) & stabilized morale and working conditions in the scouting area.
Coppy may have collected a few young arms (some are still scatterarms walking the ball park) and did hold off on not trading Acuna, Carmago and Albies, but Alex has put together the enviroment that has turned this into a watchable product again
Also note that Acuna, Albies and Carmago were - remember Frank Wren's players
Had it not been for Coppygate, I do not think we would have seen the improvement we have seen the last two yrs. Also Snitker would have been fired after 2017.
Alex has done well picking up from the messy incompetence under the way Hart/Coppy destroyed the Braves the whole time they were here.
And some of the Hart/Coppy moves like the dumb Newcomb trade is looking worse and worse. Alex might have been able to move him for something, maybe not cause other GM's know of his scatterarm lack of control.
And you have to consider the corporate limitations Alex has to work with.

Fair enough, but Alex has got to get his first rounders signed this time around - we have two of them cannot repeat another Carter Stewart mistake

Carter Stewart has looked like dog poo at JuCo I did not know that - Stewie cost him self close to 2 mil for his decision How much will he drop in this draft (if he comes out) - to the 4th or 5th round Good the bullett is dodged. I prefer he stay away from hot shot pitchers, they take longer to develop & most of em do not develop Or are not that good, like Gausman who has had a so so MLB record - he was the 4th overall pick in his draft And Luke Hochevar second overall. Was not that good. Not to mention Brady Ailken and Mark Appell

For anybody who hasn't noticed, so far this year:
Alfaro 3 HRs 6 RBI and .316/.366/.553/.918 with a 144 wRC+
Reamuto 1 HR 6 RBI and .239/.321/.326/.647 with a 76 wRC+
And then there's the little matter of Miami also having Sixto Sanchez, one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball.

I shudder to think what the Braves would have had to give up to beat that deal.

I shudder to think what the Braves would have had to give up to beat that deal. Riley and Wright and something else of decent value from what I recall. For two stinking years of JTR.

For his sake (and I wish the kid well) tell me about Sanchez in three years and see what he can do Hope he fares well than some of these prospects that have come through here since the teardown Alfaro is not a bad player, I would take him on the Braves but JTR should heat up we know what he can do
