*knock on wood*
Let's say what deserves to be said. Yes, the season is only 2 weeks old. But for those 10 games, Dansby has been our MVP.
I think we all caught a bit of optimism in Spring Training. The adjustment to his stance and setup with his hands -- hitting the ball with authority to RF and CF, and still being quick enough to turn on inside fastballs ... Something has clicked here.
If he keeps this up, he legitimately could be in the league MVP conversation. With his defense at a premium position, coupled with finally realizing his strong offensive potential -- his WAR would be astounding if he keeps this up.
Anyway -- the man has really taken his lumps over the years, so it's time to throw some praise his way when deserved. Getting production from him at the bottom of the order has really lengthened our lineup, and in my opinion, is probably the biggest single contributor to our current 6-4 record.

I have no problem giving his props, he’s had a great start. I’m just needing to see him be consistent over a decent period of time before I get overly excited. He's had some real good runs a few times in the past and then had long stretches where he was terrible with the bat.

This could not age well. I’m hoping he just produces enough to be our number 2 hitter on the reg.

He obviously can't keep up what he's doing right now, but a .280 AVG /20 HR /90 RBI/.850 OPS would be a terrific year from him, and I think he's capable of that. I think he's the healthiest he's been since he got here, so that's in his favor. Color me cautiously optimistic.........

If he cuts down on his strikeouts and can OPS .750 to .775 I’d be thrilled and comfortable with him hitting at the top of the lineup. We tried to move him back up a couple of times when he was hitting well and he immediately went into a tailspin each time. So I’d like to see him keep doing this for awhile before we try moving him up. And for gods sake don’t move him back down to 8th either. Leave him in the 6th or 7th spot for now.

Maybe Dansby can be the kind of player we thought we had when he first came up in late 2016
He did improve defensively last yr & did have fair pop w/ the 14 HRS and 59 RBI & played with a bad wrist
He is not a Bum anymore, he no longer deserves to be Booed

Nice line drive down the RF line but they had him shaded. Great contact fighting off a 1-2 pitch.

As everyone knows I was maybe the hardest on Swanson it killed me that he would not work and make adjustments. However I saw the adjustments start last year and can see that he put work in over the off season and it may very well have saved his career. I can see no reason why he can not become the best SS in the NL and an AS for years to come. He has the perfect guy in his ear to make him special Chipper. So go Swanson keep proving me wrong

ROTFL is right. No one here knows jack crap about Dansby's willingness to work.... from day 1. They saw he had pretty hair and some struggles after the initial call up success, and made assumptions. Many of the folk now praising him are one slump away from throwing him back down an elevator shaft.

You remember the talks on the old board about SSS and that he needed more time to adjust because he didn't get enough reps in the minors. I believe he's found a stance and an approach that works. While it's true that this could all be SSS, he's done this before, but what can't be argued against is the fact that his approach is clearly different. It's really a remarkable change. He now spits on 90% of all sliders low and away. Not only does his spit on them, you can see that he immediately sees them for what they are and doesn't bite. It can't be understated how big that is for him.

Some people just can't have both beautiful mullets and great baseball stats. He realized he had to forfeit that lock game.

Looked like he was pulling off the ball last night, trying to go exclusively to LF. That's why he had no power the other way, just little wrist flicks.
Hope he and Seitzer work through that quickly, all his success was coming from a CF/RF approach.
