The one encouraging thing about Ender at least is that he is hitting over .300 so far this spring. Just stop with all of that positive nonsense. He’s destined to hit .185 for the first part of the season! There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it! I’d guess more like .250 or .260 with a .315 OBP and a .660 OPS. And that “first part of the season” would actually be the first two thirds of the season. That’s what I would expect, if I was an expecting man.

It saddens me Camargo isn’t in the OD line up. Camargo deserves to play over anyone not named Freeman or Acuna. Yet we have the likes of Markakis, inciarte and dansbum starting.

I love it when I see a sentence start with "IF Inciarte gets off to a bad start..." If you say that, I really wonder if you pay any attention to baseball from May to mid July. Each year is a new year man - anything is possible! Don't mistake optimism for ignorance. Each year is new but when you are wondering how something may turnout, you look for verifiable information to give you some idea. Every season is new and I certainly hope he bucks the trend, but it is foolish to just ignore a huge consistent sample size that says he starts slow.... and not just a couple of weeks or a month, but generally months April through mid July. Again I hope he breaks the mold he himself has cast.. not me.. him, and comes out early like he comes on late; but it isn't a safe bet. That opinion is based on a large data sample with almost no contridiction within it at all. Plus I would note that I am not a "throw Inciarte down an elevator shaft" guy. Despite his career... career...sub 100 OPS+ which indicates an average hitter at best; I have defended Ender repeatedly stating that just getting on base and being a solid base runner/stealer is enough to warrant his position as a starter. I like him a lot, but it is a fact that he has been a consistently extended slow starter.

I’ve said the same thing many times. Camargo should get a minimum of 400 PAs this year, and really 500 or more. If he gets 200 to 300 I’m going to be pissed. He was our third best hitter last year and one of our best defensive players.

I’ve mentioned this before and it’s worth repeating....I don’t think I’d have a problem with just one of Nick and Ender in our OF, but having that much lack of power from two thirds of our OF is an issue to me.

The only acceptable lineup is Acuna Freeman Albies JD Neck Flowers Inciarte Swanson I have a huge complaint with that lineup. Albies has become a .620 OPS hitter and until he can prove otherwise he can't be that high in our lineup. He had a .624 OPS the second half last year and is at .600 this spring. GAPOZ has got to improve! C'mon Oz, don't even make me donate my Albies jersey to the Goodwill!

Here’s my hot take though, Dansby finishes the year with a higher WAR than Albies.

If that’s the case he’s the teams 4th best hitter and should be hitting third. Keep the jersey.

Well they made him the next pretty boy face of the franchise and it’s a huge slap in the face to them to admit it. I still think he could come around, I just don’t expect it at this point. I would actually be ok with them giving him this long of a leash if he didn’t have two guys outperforming by such a wide margin last year

I actually expect Ozzie to come around and be a solid 100 to 110 wRC+ hitter, but he’s been so far off of that I need to see him prove it some before I can have him anywhere in the top 5 of my lineup. Maybe even top 6 if he stays on this track much longer.
