The question becomes do you want Ender’s suspect OBP as a table setter or his equally suspect slugging % closer to the middle of the order? Not sure what the answer is. I think the answer is he should hit 8th. It would also do Dansby a service to have him hitting 7th for awhile to give him a better chance at succeeding.

If it was up to me I'd probably do this:
LF Acuna RF Markakis
1B Freeman 3B Donaldson SS Camargo 2B Albies C Flowers/McCann CF Inciarte
If one insisted on Dansby at SS and Markakis in RF I'd do this:
LF Acuna RF Markakis 1B Freeman 3B Donaldson C Flowers/McCann 2B Albies SS Swanson CF Inciarte
If Donaldson absolutely has to hit 2nd then I'd just flip flop him and Nick. Personally I'd rather have Camargo starting in RF over Nick and then Johan could hit either 2nd or 4th. Camargo has a career wRC+ of 178 in high leverage situations (.388/.449 /.588/1.037). As long as he doesn't start swinging for the fences all the time he could hit 4th.

Totally agree with you. I'm still in the Swanson camp, thinking he can get to the .270, 15 HR, 70 RBI range to go with his solid D. I also like the idea of Camargo spelling different guys in the lineup (Donaldson, Swanson, Albies) - you don't lose much offense that way.

I love it when I see a sentence start with "IF Inciarte gets off to a bad start..."
If you say that, I really wonder if you pay any attention to baseball from May to mid July.

The lineup should be Acuna Albies Freeman Donaldson Markakis(I can't believe he's our best 5 hole hitter, gross) Swanson Ender McFlowers
Putting Donaldson in the 2 hole just because he asked for it is daf.

If all of a sudden Dansby reached his full offensive potential, I'd try
Acuna Swanson/Camargo Freeman Donaldson/Camargo Markakis/Camargo Albies/Camargo Catcher Inciarte

Ozzie was worse than Dansby offensively the second half last year, until he shows that wasn’t the real him I can’t justify him in the top five of our lineup. And we can’t hit Dansby 6th until he shows us something better, and neither he or Ozzie have done that yet this spring.

Send him to the minors and give Pache his shot right now! I wish Pache could be counted on right now, he sure looked ready this spring but he’s almost surely not, dammit.

The one encouraging thing about Ender at least is that he is hitting over .300 so far this spring.

The one encouraging thing about Ender at least is that he is hitting over .300 so far this spring. Just stop with all of that positive nonsense. He’s destined to hit .185 for the first part of the season! There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it!
