Heyward can't hit, and I've always suspected that he also isn't very receptive to coaching. I don't think that will change since he got the big contract in spite of those facts. He's Exhibit A regarding the dangers of the look test. The only way he should be considered would be if the Cubs are willing to eat about 2/3 of his contract, which still leaves 5 years and about $40 million. At least then you could release him in a couple of years.

Then I might consider it.

Including Bryant is the way to go. I don’t see Theo every going that route though.

Not if he can sign the GOAT! lol, until that guy becomes a real goat and the biggest albatross contract evar! Then we’re looking at Theo’s three biggest mistakes! Possibly the three biggest ever in the entire history of baseball, hahaha.

How would you guys feel if the braves went after some players who are not big names to play RF that we could get cheap say Jake Cave or Niko Goodrum either guy given a full time job could put up justin Upton type numbers. By going this route we could save our prospects for a MadBum or Kluber deal... I just hope we waste none of them on Gray

At this point, I’m pretty convinced that we are going to just re-sign Markakis and make a few depth minor league signings with ST invites. I think what we have is pretty much what we are going to see for 2019. It’s a little disappointing considering this was supposed to be a big offseason for us.

I think Gray is so overrated that whatever prospect we would trade for him would be better than he is. As for Frazier I think Jake Cave is better than he is. Frazier is more NY hype than a stud
