David O'Brien @dobrienajc #Braves pitcher Brandon McCarthy is not with the team. He's back home in Arizona rehabbing his knee with his own physical therapist. And no, that's not typical in the middle of the season.
huh? I'm home because of seeing doctors on west coast plus the break and it's a mandated rest period. Not out of the norm. 8:42 PM - 14 Jul 2018 #Braves pitcher Brandon McCarthy is not with the team. Jon Heyman @jonheyman Got to wonder whether joe Girardi is a candidate for cardinals job. He has a rapport with Mozeliak. As a bonus, hometown Peoria is practically cardinals territory.

Today's lineup: Ozzie 2B Acuna, Jr CF FF 1B Nick at Nite RF Suzuki C Culberson LF Camargo 3B Dansby SS Julio RHP Acuna batting second right now is still not a good idea, he’s whiffing mightily. Even though Charlie is coming back down to earth, thanks in part to sitting on the bench most days, I would have put him in the two hole.

I'd let Acuna lead off. The Great and Powerful Oz hasn't done well there. We don't really have a good solution to the leadoff issue. That's the bottom line.

There's no good answer right now for leadoff, other than Markakis. Camargo was an option but he's been struggling too. I would have tried Culberson even, but since he's been riding the bench he's losing his stride now too. But Acuna has been dreadful lately, I don't think he should bat first or second right now.
His July:
.205/.244/.359/.603
With 17 strikeouts in 39 AB's. Ouch.
