Hopefully, Snit had learned. In the past he would have brought in Moylan ( or maybe Freeman as littlebeast suggested) in that situation looking for a DP. I am so glad it was Biddle. Back to the question of how much influence does a manager have

Indeed...and if somebody had told me in March that on this date our infield defense and offense would be where it is, that our outfield would have absorbed the changes that it has, that our catching tandem would be where it is, and that our pitching faced the injuries that it did and is still standing...β¦β¦.I would have gladly taken it without complaint.

I checked the comments before the score, so I clicked on the Saturday game tread not realizing this tread hasn't been sticky'd at the top. I saw a bunch of sad gloomy posts and I was like ughhh must have got swept going into the ASB. So I waited 20 minutes to finally check the score and I was like ahhh we won, then I came back here to try and understand the comments and realized it was all my confusion. Just to let yall know.

Pirates come back twice to beat the Brewers today. Trailing 5-3 entering the 9th, they loaded the bases and scored one run one a DP ball. After scoring and now two outs and down to the final strike on a 1-2 count pinch hitter David Freese triples off the right field wall to tie the game. A grounder to second ends the inning. Then in the 10th the Brewers score in the top half with the help of two walks and then the Pirates score two in the bottom half as the last two batters in a pouring down rain get a single and then a ball hit over the center fielders head and the Pirates walk it off 7-6. Great win for the Pirates and a FIVE game sweep over the Brewers!!!

True, and I don't think we should or will sell the farm to make a run this year. It's just not worth it, especially when you consider the fact that the top teams are in the AL to begin with. I mean, I'd like to see us improve the team, but not at the expense of top prospects. The trophy is staying in the AL regardless of what anybody in the NL does, IMO.
