Justin Toscano @justinctoscano · 3h I’ll have much more context in a story but I don’t pay for Twitter and the character limit capped me Quote Justin Toscano @justinctoscano · 3h The Braves, aware of all the variables for this weekend, are using a day-to-day approach, with an eye toward the results of the Mets and Diamondbacks. They know they need to get into the postseason first, so all hands will be on deck with the pitching staff. With the way this approach is starting off... we may be eliminated never having used our best weapon.

Now we need to have Bowman pry himself away from a buffet somewhere long enough that we can hear crap spewing from Larry Curly AND Moe.

And in the useless information department... Ohtani just got his 400 total base. Last year Acuña got 383 total bases... Just goes to show you the incredible year Ohtani had.

Sale has been ruled out for the WC series.
There was someone here who said Sale's ability still be on the field at the end of the year was a huge concern.
Seems he was right.

He had a great season and it was fun to watch a master at work. But was our goal at the start of the season win the Cy Young and make the last wild card spot and that’s it? Even with the injuries we had we did have some kind of chance in the playoffs because our pitching, but not if Sale can’t pitch.

If he only had the spasms last night, how can they rule him out so fast?
I call BS.
Who are they trying to bluff acting like he’s been ok?

Holmes said he wasn't told he would be starting until 35 minutes before the game, so apparently they did have hope for Sale? I mean there didn't seem to be any real back up plan in place. How the entire situation has played out is extremely confusing and it's hard to see the Braves engaging in some elaborate psy-op. That involved not telling the starter of the most important game of the season that if it came to a game 2 on Monday that he would be called upon.
So who starts tonight? Personally I said all along we should have added a starter to the roster before we added Brebbia which was pretty much a wasted roster spot that could have been filled with someone with more versatility (like starting when/if another starter went down).

As a guy with a history of back problems, the spasms could ease after a few days. But with Fried and Lopez already set, and the need for a game 1 starter, maybe they figured he wasn’t worth a roster spot

Now comes that magical moment we all look so forward to every year where the rusted gears are trying to turn between Potatohead’s ears to see how he can cock up the playoff roster like he always does.
He’s sure to make some crazy decision on the starting pitcher tonight, my guess is he’ll think he can try to get 2-3 innings out of Luke.

In case anyone is wondering, the answer to the equation is Luke Jackson

Eh let’s see…..teh square angle of the hypotenuse times the Pythagorean Theorums divided by an apple pie are squared equals the quantum algebraic binomial equilateral denominators…….means it’s Luke Jackson!
But since he’s our closer tonight we’ll go with Smith-Shawver.
