Come on bro, when did Fried ever come through? Not one time ever in any important game. Except maybe if you want to count that one time he pitched six scoreless innings against the best offense in baseball to clinch a World Series championship. I guess that’s a cause of big time butthurt for these poor Faillies fans since none of their star studded god like pitching staff has ever done that.

Oh and just for the record when you are talking about 3/4 of an inning making the difference between the innings leader and the guy in 15th spot, yeah it does make a difference. Oh and just in case you were not aware.. The Braves scored zero Ron yesterday so it's a statistical impossibility for them to win a game under those circumstances. Your boy Wheeler got to face a team missing half it's starters, but keep on touching yourself every time you hear the name Zack. Yea... not gonna lie. I like Wheeler. Almost as much as I like Sale. He's a Georgia boy who got away... to an arch nemesis. That hurts. Just curious... if you were the gm, would you have spent $126m/3 years for him?

The Braves indeed traded Yuli Gurriel to the Royals, a source confirms. Kansas City is sending Atlanta some cash. Wait....we had Yuli Gurriel at Gwinnett with an .863 OPS and .125 wRC+ and we chose Luke Williams and Merrifield to play for the big club over him?
lol, this is what happens when I stop paying much attention, I completely forgot we had Gurriel.
I didn’t even know we had him.

Ya'll gotta read my posts to stay informed!

Ya'll gotta read my posts to stay informed! Sometimes I skip entire games now, that was probably one of them. I used to never miss even an inning. I can’t believe we thought a AAA productive Gurriel wasn’t a better idea than Luke Williams or Merrifield. I’ll bet we had Gurriel on a minor league contract and we didn’t to pay him more to play in the big leagues. What a farce. After w e completely wasted $16M on LF. Actually $19M, might as well include Duvall in wasted LF money.

I mistyped.
I meant Kelenic.
Just talking about Kelenics salary + the two salaries we took on in the trade. Gonzalez and White.
We got that down to around 13.5 after we traded away Gonzalez .

The real bottom line is that it was a a lot of wasted money, and now it seems pretty obvious we did not bring Gurriel for money reasons up even though he was having a real nice season at Gwinnett. I mean hell, he has to be better than Luke Williams. We did sign Gurriel to a minor league contract, but terms were apprently never disclosed. Most likely we would have had to pay him a million more if we called him up and we can't do that.

Not defending the deal though. It was a $13.5mm deal when all said and done to see if Kelenic had figured something out and we lost that bet because he hasn't.

This is your manager people... Talking about why Soler is in the lineup every day:

Brian Snitker on Jarred Kelenic: “I think he has held his own really good. He is going through a lot and he is learning a lot. We didn’t intend for him to have a lot of responsibility in this lineup.”
He claims this after they invested $16M just for this season to make him our every day LFer .......which was the original intent until he went 1 for 33 in spring training and caused them to bitch panic and sign Duvall once they realized Kelenic couldn't hit LHP. Maybe someday they'll catch on that he can't hit RHP either.
Snitker on Kelenic from a recent interview on Facebook:
"You know what, he's holding his own. We ask a lot of that kid..........blah blah blah, if he was hitting 9th you'd think he's having a really nice year, and you know what, he is. He's doing probably what we wanted him to do. We just wanted him to do his thing and exist, and he has, he's handled it really well. It's been a solid year for him."
So you see right there why we fully intend to sign Kelenic for 4 or 5 years. Sure he'll be cheap, but so would I.
It's not enough we have to put up with his managering problems, but he really should never speak, he just makes a much bigger ass of himself when he does. And then the media just eats it up and kowtows like good little servants.
It's hilarious that Kelenic has a .675 OPS, 14 HRs and 42 RBI and played pretty ragged defense lately, and he's a god in Snitker's eyes, and yet Rosario was demonized and run out of town as we needed a significant upgrade in LF.......after Eddie had .755 OPS with 21 HRs and 74 RBI last year.
There was also an article right near the end of spring training where Snitker was raving about what a physical specimen Kelenic is, apparently when you see him with no shirt, it was kind of creepy how excited Snitker was about that, maybe he has a thing. Not that there would be anything wrong with that.

It's pretty rare for guys to struggle until they're 25 and then suddenly figure things out. Kelenic has basically had one hot steak in his career, and it was at the beginning of last year, not the end. I've never understood the logic of it.

It's pretty rare for guys to struggle until they're 25 and then suddenly figure things out. Kelenic has basically had one hot steak in his career, and it was at the beginning of last year, not the end. I've never understood the logic of it. Kelenic is 25 years old now, he’s had 1400 big league plate appearances, a .663 career OPS, an 86 wRC+, and a strikeout rate of 31%. I’d like to know in what bizarro world any of that is acceptable production. And then Snitker sits right there and tells us just how stupid he thinks we all are with his nonsense about Kelenic having a solid season. He can blow that out his ass. I get trying to keep a guy’s confidence level up, but there’s ways to do that without blowing smoke in our rear ends. Snitker pays zero attention to stats so he has no clue just how bad Kelenic has been, and he’s trying to hoodwink fans who do keep up with stats. And I would dare anyone to deny that the eye test is even more telling on Kelenic. He has about six different ways he can be pitched and turned into a very easy out.
