I've always been very leery of advanced defensive metrics. I've sensed our defense not being pristine, but overall I don't have any problems with any of our starters defensively. Metrics aside.... do you remember the two games when we couldn't catch pop flys? I think even by the eye test we have been a little off this season, and the error count is high.

Yeah I do, there's no doubt we haven't been as good as we have in the past, but I still don't have an overall problem. The only problem I do have is that it seems to me we have had issues forever on pop ups in between the infield and outfielders because of lack of communication. Nobody ever knows who is going to take charge and we usually end up with somebody trying to make a miracle catch at the very last second. I don't get it because its pretty cut and dried the OFers should take any ball they can get to, but we manage to still have issues and its guys who have been playing together forever. I think Albies and Acuna can be cited specifically, which is just ridiculous, but we do have any issues there all over the field.
I just don't think we've bad enough to be ranked 30th in MLB.

Defensive runs saved used to be cited here and there, I have no clue how accurate any of them are. This has us ranked tied for 13th which I would see as more reasonable.

Seems kind of weird, he's only 31 and was raking at Gwinnett even though he only played 7 games there..... .323/.344/.548/.892
He said he knows he can still play the game but the time to retire is right for his family. Of course we don't know details, but so few guys make it to the big league level, you gotta hold onto that as long as you sensibly can! That's the kind of thing you can't go back on when he realizes 15 years from now he should have kept playing. Who knows what the family thing is, but you have to also do things for yourself too and MLB is a pretty big deal!

You never know what's going on with people. It seems odd to us because even making it that far was a fantasy we never realized.

You never know what's going on with people. It seems odd to us because even making it that far was a fantasy we never realized. That's definitely true. It's also human nature to not always appreciate what you have at any given point in time and then realize years later how lucky you were....and if it's something you just gave up on it can be hard to accept when you're older. I've learned that about a few things, but that's just the nature of being a human being.

"At the top, I mentioned the big money given to Ozuna, and while the defense isn't great, if he continues to produce at the plate as he has in May it might be time to give him another crack in left field."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Two months is enough to declare Rosario a lost cause while we will stick with other guys for entire seasons. Considering we don't have much of anything to offer, we aren't going to get any upgrade over him, it's more likely that he kicks it up a notch or two. And the thought of trying to play Blowzuna in the OF costs the writer all credibility. Plus I think we all sense he's about to take a big crap and fall back in it with the bat again.

Yea, I don't have any confidence in Ozuna at all. He starting to swing at bad pitches again from what I was able to see the last couple of games. I wouldn't say no to Soler but I doubt that has a chance. It would be a nice reunion though. The Marlins are above .500 and only 4 back and he's a big reason why. Maybe someone has seen Ozuna produce in May and will take a chance now. We could only hope. I'd like to see more of d'Arnaud and Murphy alternating catching and DH-ing.

What in the name of bloody blue blazes does him having come around a bit at the plate have to do with sticking him out there in LF?? So we can keep him in the lineup and insert d'Naud at DH?
Nooooooooooooooo

Soler is such a hit or miss guy, he is really up and down and he's been destroying it the last couple of weeks. You just never know with him. He was having a terrible season then boom he went crazy.

This "FanSided" website is obviously run by retards.
I saw an article there today that said the Braves could maybe acquire Burnes and Adames together from the Brewers.
Uh, well, yeah wouldn't that be cool.......except they're in first place so I don't think they're trading any good players, they both have one year of arb left and would be UFA after 2024, and even given that, what would we trade to get those two guys? I don't think the writer ever said, I had to stop reading. He also offered up Rich Hill as an option. Puke.
I'm calling it right now, well actually I called it three weeks ago, we are going to end up with Adam Wainwright at the deadline. The Cardinals are last in the NL right now, this is Wainwright's last year so as a favor to him they will trade him to a contending team that has a chance.....we would of course love his veteran presents and playoff experience as he tries to have a dream finish to his career with teh Barves.

Some other contender may want Wainwright, and we have so little to offer other than a couple of guys I really only want to give up in desperation.

I'm sure if he's pitching decent other teams will want him, but I'll bet the Cardinals will do us a favor so that he can take his shot with us. They kind of owe us on the whole Wainwright thing anyway, and I would bet he would beg them to deal with us. It's not like he's going to bring a whole lot from anybody anyway. He could end up being a bullpen guy in the playoffs no matter where he goes, I don't think we'd have to hardly give up anything to get him.

That has a ton to do with outfield assists on putouts, and we're really good at that. That doesn't however mention popups screwed up. You have to take all of these things together to get the big picture, but you know that.
