Braves: Contingency plans if Freddie Freeman walks in free agencyEven though Braves country remains champagne drunk after their first World Series title in 26 years, Freddie Freeman‘s free agency still looms over the franchise. Personally, I believe that Freeman will be back with the Braves. However, there’s still the possibility that he walks away as a champion and a franchise legend. So if that happens, where could the Braves turn? The Free Agency Band-Aid This isn’t a strong free agent class with a talent anywhere close to that of Freeman, but there should be a few names that could immediately serve as a stop gap in an attempt to put a band-aid over a bullet hole. Among the names that make the most sense are Brandon Belt and Anthony Rizzo. Both are big left-handed bats that can provide some middle-of-the-order power. Brad Miller fits that mold as well. Perhaps the Braves could also experiment with moving a guy like Kyle Seager to first base. And although he has never played the position, Nick Castellanos moving to first is an interesting idea that would be pretty off the wall. But regardless, in free agency, there’s no way the Braves are going to replace Freeman’s production. The Big Trade As reported this week, the Oakland A’s are preparing for another big sell-off: If Freeman leaves, in my opinion, the Braves HAVE to pony up some prospects for Matt Olson. In 2021, Olson slashed .271/.371/.540/.911 with 35 doubles, 39 home runs, and 88 walks. His left-handed bat would absolutely play at Truist Park, leaving craters in the Chop House 81 games out of the year. Even though it would be a gut punch to lose Freeman, Olson would fit in seamlessly and provide an immediate power upgrade at first base. He’d also come at a fraction of the price. Olson’s estimated arbitration figure for 2022 is $12 million. He’ll be due for a raise in 2023, but it still will be a fraction of the commitment that the Braves would have to give to Freeman. www.sportstalkatl.com/braves-contingency-plans-if-freddie-freeman-walks-in-free-agency/ Yuck.
It's like sorry, Kate Upton isn't available as your sex partner, but Rosanne Barr is.

I (and I think most) still hope the Braves keep Freeman. Olson is intriguing though.

I hope we keep Freddie, too. We ALL hope so, but if we don't, we don't. Maintaining a winning team is more important than keeping Freeman. Everyone is replaceable. Sorry, but it's true.

Freddie = Veteran Presents.
On a whole different level.
Cannot, must not, won't let Freddie leave.

It would be a sad thing to have happen. It really would. I don't think he wants the sun and the moon, either, but we shall see. I really don't understand why it isn't done already.

Frederick wants years.. that's what separates him and the organization right now....
What's your offer knowing that?

Frederick wants years.. that's what separates him and the organization right now.... What's your offer knowing that? 6 years, $150M or $160M. I would feel like that's pretty fair to everybody.....he may get offered more somewhere else but I do believe he sincerely wants to stay in Atlanta. I'm not sure how long he wants to play really, he's very religious and very family oriented, if he plays much more than 6 years he's not going to see his kids as much as he probably would like to.....and at that point we would have paid him nearly $300M in his career, I would think he could get his kids by with that.

I keep hearing an FF deal won't get done until the Collective Bargaining agreement is ironed out. And, THAT sounds like it is going to be a cluster fruck.

Frederick wants years.. that's what separates him and the organization right now.... What's your offer knowing that? I don't really understand what the problem could be. What is he wanting, 10 years or something? Six years takes him to age 38. I could see 7 years, but I don't blame the Braves if they don't wanna go more than that. If he's still productive at 39, I'm sure they'd take care of him. Look man, I love Freeman. He's s great guy and a great player, but if he's gonna be a total pain in the ass negotiating his next 9-figure employment contract, then I don't have any tolerance for that. People have problems in this world. Freddie Freeman's finances are not a problem. I'm also afraid he's the type who won't recognize when it's time to quit ala Pujols. Whatever happens, happens. I'm for the Braves doing what's best for the Braves when all is said and done.

I seem to vaguely recall a few years ago Freddie Freeman making a comment about maybe retiring when this contract was up, and when he was questioned he backed off that and said he just didn’t have a desire to have a really long career. Maybe I’m imagining that but it seems like it happened. I’m not concerned it’s dragging out, they have a lot to sort out financially with the whole team. I think in a good way because we have money we just have to sort it all out.

I thought she was kind of average in the face and it looks like she's had some strange work done to her face, but she always had a hawt athletic body.

The biggest issue with Mrs. Freeman is she wears too much makeup, which I have never liked in any woman. She isn't the most beautiful face, but her bodacious bod more than makes up for any shortcoming she might have there!
