lulz.... Matzek wasted in a 9-0 game. Snit wouldn’t have gone to him anyway. AJ is his guy. Time to clean house of most of these useless arms in the pen.

I get tired of hearing our talking heads talk about what good stuff this guy has or that guy has. Pitching is about results, not stuff.

Minter will walk one or two LH relief is definitely an area where we need to improve. It would be nice if our best LH reliever would have been available today.
To recap, Minter, who is not our best LH reliever, played a major role in our loss Friday night while our best LH reliever wasn't used, then we used our best LH reliever in a 9-0 blowout last night, so today we turn to Minter again who loses the game. But if anyone criticizes Snitker for all of that they are being unfair or just picking on every little move he makes.

We've got one decent one... We save him for 9-0 games. Need more than one though … Yes, but when you have only one.....you have to be careful how you use him.

He proved that Friday by going to AJ first. Bottom line is that you have a manager who doesn’t know how to manage a pen trying to manage a bunch of relief pitchers who can’t pitch. It’s a bad combination and why this is a lost season.

It’s a bad combination and why this is a lost season. If Snitker chooses inferior players, then I don't see how you or anyone else can be bothered by it when we criticize him. And again this was a case where we directly got burned by Matzek not being used today, this is the 2nd time in the last month the exact same thing happened. And Snitker did it two other times where we luckily didn't get burned. Like I said Matzek is not Hader, maybe he would have given up 8 runs today, but when he's the best LH you have you have to use him that way. Matzek had a 4.66 ERA in June, but it was 0.00 in May, and Minter had a 5.79 ERA last month and is no better this month. And in reality Matzek should have been used Friday night instead of Minter and that helped cost us that game too.
The real shame of it is Snitker won't learn from any of it and will continue to manage the exact same way. It's almost sad, like he has a disorder.

He’s old school, stubborn and set in his ways - that’s his “disorder”. Criticize all you want. I already apologized for unfairly jumping on you guys last night. Not sure what else I can do.

In the post-game today, someone asked him something to the effect of what to do about Minter, and his answer was basically "I don't know" followed up by "this game is really hard". Based on that, learning doesn't appear to be the strong suit of Brian Snitker.

I didn't think any apologies were necessary, I felt like we were just carrying on our regular conversations like we always do and nobody said anything out of line. It's just hard to read how far you've come on Snitker's managerial weaknesses.
I agree Snitker is old school, but even good old school managers would realize at some point you have to look at actual results and start making some adjustments. If we have a rock head that refuses to do that, I'm going to stay on him because I don't think he should remain in that position if he's going to be that way. It sure becomes more visible when the talent level on your team drops. When that happens your manager has to be even sharper, and we're getting the opposite. I didn't even bother to mention it, but he got away with using Tomlin today late in a two run game. How the hell could he use Matzek yesterday and NOT Tomlin, and then use Tomlin today in a close game. There's something wrong with the man's brain.

Based on that, learning doesn't appear to be the strong suit of Brian Snitker. He would have been a great bench coach or 3rd base coach with his pom poms if they would have just stayed in that direction. As the guy calling the shots he's out of his element.
