Very simply...
I feel very bad for Snit having nobody he can rely on out there. It's a grab bag of fiery hot garbage all season.
He does however need to stop using Matzek in blowout games and give himself more options for close games.
Like today's game.. if Matzek was an option, maybe just maybe he would have thought back to Friday and remembered what happened with Minter and then said "maybe I'll roll with Matzek today". That may or may not have worked but we know for a fact that Minter did bit work, and Snit painted himself into that corner.

75% on AA, 25% on Sarge. AA dropped the ball big-time on player acquisition, and Sarge can't manage the pen worth a snit.

I'd put it at 50% AA's fault, 30% Snitker's fault, 10% on Kranitz and 10% on the relievers who aren't performing. The pitcher's can't help who they are for the most part, but they don't ever seem to improve or work on anything or change anything.
The sad part is there's only one area of our equation that isn't hard to figure out, and it's the manager's role. In some bullpens it could be pretty tricky who to use when. In ours, it's not, and he can't figure it out.

I put it at 50 percent on the relievers who are not performing. The other half of the blame can be 25 on Alex and the rest on Snitker and Kranitz.
Is it just me or does Minter just always look like he is out of shape
This idea of pitchers not being able to help who they are, I do not buy it. They have a fairly straight forward specialty job to do and for the most part these lousy BUMS are not getting it done. And I am not sure the relievers for the most part are in shape. That is always on the athlete to me.
Newk and Minter - they are the lazy fat ones to me
What gets me about the FO is they cannot move on from some guys - like Newk and Tomlin. And we are regurgitating Touki again?

I agree with the frustration on lack of performance, but you don't know one thing about them being in shape. You are just pissed and lashing out with vitriolic BS. Stop

Snitker... tries his best.
The players... they are giving it their all.
Let's not cross the line and start calling anyone fat and lazy. That is an insinuation that a lack of performance is directly related to a lack of effort and a lack of professionalism.
Let's just not go down that path.

That is an insinuation that a lack of performance is directly related to a lack of effort and a lack of professionalism. Let's just not go down that path. I don't think it's so far fetched, and I think it's fair to question it. I don't like to do that because I don't have any way of knowing how much any of these guys put into themselves and the game every day, but I'm sure there are plenty of guys in the big leagues who could be better if they worked at it harder. But Newcomb isn't fat, he looks very athletically fit to me. I would in fact say it's very obvious that he has dropped quite a bit of weight since the days when he was first coming up through the minor leagues. He just can't throw strikes and never has been able to. But I don't see any reason to launch personal attacks on him either, he seems like a good guy, I think he has really tried hard over the years and it means a lot to him, he just can't command his pitches.
Minter doesn't look to me to be a guy that puts the time and effort into his fitness like say Trevor Bauer does, lol, but to me a relief pitcher doesn't have to do that. He's always been heavy, but there's no way of telling if it ever really affects his performance. To me the only time it might is when he throws say 25, 30 or 35 pitches in an inning. He doesn't look like he's huffing and puffing when he does that, so I'm fine with all that. He's pretty young and probably does enough to stay cardiovascularly ok in order to do his job. He's just another guy who has pitched for us that has trouble commanding his pitches. I don't think there's been any pattern that says it only happens to him when he throws a lot of pitches and gets worn out......frequently he comes in throwing the ball all over the place right from the git go.
