Because in Atlanta there is never a glass slipper. It just turns midnight and our schizz turns into a pumpkin. Nine out of the eleven "experts" on MLB site picked the Reds to win the opening series. Not surprised. I wonder how many of those picked the Braves to finish behind the Phillies, Nats, and Mets?

Per DOB #Braves were still finalizing 28-man roster -- it's not due till tomorrow morning -- but Snitker indicated they're leaning toward carrying extra position player and one less pitcher.
Please Please drop The Puke.....

I am not so sure.
With almost no pinch-hitting when you are starting your best lineup, I don't see the need for an extra position player on the 28 man. What does scare me to death is a starter faltering early and we can't leave them in until they give up 6 even if it's only the 2nd inning. I would have a short leash for any pitcher getting in trouble so I want the ability to use 6-7 out of the pen and not utterly ruin my chances for the next game. No extra inning runner in the playoffs, so you could have a 14 inning game. Plus you still have the taxi squad if you lose a position player.

*** WEATHER UPDATE*** 29 Sep 2020 10:40 PM EDT Atlanta Metro Area Metman Weather Services BRAVES GAME FORECAST
Wednesday 10/30/2020 Braves Game Forecast Mostly sunny skies with a high of 73°. Game start time temperature in the mid to possibly upper 60's rising to the low to mid 70s by 3/4 PM. WNW winds from 6-10 MPH with occasionally higher gusts. This will results in a bit of a breeze out towards left field. Winds could vary from W/NW but still basically blowing out to towards LF/LCF. I looked at the 10 meter AGL to get a better read on the direction and speed a little higher up.
Weather Tip: Just an FYI for fun. The high temperature forecasted is based on a simplified formula of a stable advection of forecasted temperatures at the 850 MB level by the Euro and NAM models at 3 PM tomorrow and adjusted seasonally. A more in depth regression equation involving atmospheric thickness can also be used to determine the high temperature adjusted for expected parameters such as amount of cloud cover, winds, thermal conductivity, surface specific heat and vapor pressure. These are the some of the methods used when analyzing facsimile weather maps before models gave us the answers quickly. I cheated by using the 850MB model forecast for 3 PM tomorrow instead of using a facsimile forecast map.
GO BRAVES!!!

I actually think we match up better with the Cubs and Marlins than we do the Reds, so if we can beat the Reds......

I actually think we match up better with the Cubs and Marlins than we do the Reds, so if we can beat the Reds...... Look what the Yankees did to the consensus Cy Young winner. Bauer isn't invincible but they have to put up good AB's, minimize chasing, get runners on, put some pressure on and cash in when they do... and build his pitch count. If we can just score 2-3 in 6 innings and keep the game tight I like out chances late.

Here's how I look at it. If our guys can't get motivated and focused to go out there, be aggressive, and kick some ass for 3 straight years, then it's time for Snitker to go. Period. Regular season success is great, but this team is past that now, I don't care about our starting pitcher issues or the fact that it's church league. It's time to get past all the excuses and put up or shut up. We're playing against a .500 team that wouldn't even be here during a regular season. If Snitker can't get us there, then we need to give somebody else a shot before it's too late.

It’s no secret we’ll swing at bad pitches. Especially sliders in the dirt. I really don’t see why pitchers ever throw us fastballs in the strike zone. We need to make these guys throw us actual strikes and be aggressive on hittable pitches.

I don't think it's a coincidence that during the best month of Ozuna's career, he showed patience at the plate. I have no problem with swinging at the first pitch, but you've got to pick your spots, and you have to decide whether you're only going to swing at a first pitch if it's a certain pitch. IMO.
