Well fortunately we don't need to go 5 deep in the playoffs and our top 2 were really, really good. While that is true, it appears our ace has had some sort of health issues lately that have me fairly concerned, and our number two guy has a total of 32 innings pitched in the big leagues. The playoffs are going to be a whole different world for Anderson, particularly if we manage to lose game 1, god forbid.
I'm trying to stay positive about this, but these two guys have some shakiness in my opinion, and we have our playoff gagging history that is not shaky.

From ESPN: "Urena, a candidate for Miami's postseason bullpen, was hit on his pitching hand by a 103.9 mph line drive from AL batting leader DJ LeMahieu with one out in the third. Urena crumpled over in pain and stayed down in front of the mound before exiting the game."Never wanna see a guy hurt, but I wonder how Ureña liked being hit on the hand. Hmmmmmm Couldn't have happened to a more deserving JERK

Can we do that? Time will tell.

David O'Brien @dobrienatl #Braves' Marcell Ozuna was the NL Player of the Week after posting a .500/.606/.923 slash with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBIs and seven walks in seven games. He finished the season as the NL leader in homers (18) and RBIs (56).

David O'Brien @dobrienatl The last #Braves player to lead the NL in homers or RBIs was Andruw Jones, who also led in both in 2005 (51 homers, 128 RBIs.) The only other Atlanta-era Braves to lead the NL in RBIs were the great Hank Aaron in 1966 and two-time MVP Dale Murphy in 1982 (tie) and 1983.

I know, but it is what it is and those things about our starters were true no matter who we faced in Rd 1. I'm just going to watch, hope, and try to enjoy. I'm desensitized to everything else.

The difference as I see it is with the other wild card teams we would have had a lot more chance of scoring 5-8 or more runs per game and be able to compensate for our starting pitching. The Reds have those three really solid starters which means most likely we can't count on scoring enough runs to overcome our starting pitching issues.
But anything can happen, we might score 15 runs in any given game for all we know. As someone correctly pointed out, we've been doing well against good pitchers for the most part. Or our starting pitching could come through big for us.
I'm going into hoping things go our way, we're due for that in the playoffs, but I'm going to be wearing three nut cups and three mouth guards, full catchers gear and a football helmet just to protect myself from the thrashing I fear we might get. The elements are sure there for us to get a beat down.
If we lose this series it's not going to be a big deal to me, I'll still be damn proud of what these guys managed to accomplish, it was pretty remarkable. I sure can't see us competing against any of the top 4-6 teams in baseball, so we probably can't go far even if we win this series, so what the hell. But it would sure be nice to finally win a playoff series!
GO BARVES!!!

Yes, it would be nice to get that monkey off of our backs at the very least.

Not confirmed but I'm hearing that Freddie Freeman won NL Player of the Month for September He earned it. I just hope he can have an October to remember. I'm afraid he'll put too much pressure on himself because of the past.

Maybe if the rest of the team can perform, he won't feel like he has to single-handedly carry the team.

I want to see if we can avoid some decision making controversy this time. Like let's not start Ender, or bring Luke Jackson into a close game. Let's not wait until a starter has given up 6 runs to pull them... Just nothing glaringly bizarre, please.

2B-Albies 1B-Freeman LF-Ozuna DH-Markakis SS-Dansby 3B-Sandoval RF-Duvall C-Flowers
CF-Inciarte
How about Ynoa starts game 1?
Will Smith comes in to pitch the 8th inning in a tie game in game 1?
Fried gets pulled after 5 innings in game 1 after throwing only 65 pitches and says later he felt fine?

I am not intimidated by Bauer, sure he had deGrom kind of numbers this year but this is the same guy who has been hit in the past. If you really look at his career he has had two outstanding yrs, 2018 in Cleveland and of course this past yr, though looking at the whole picture he did get beat 4 times this yr, its not like he is Mr invincible. This guy ain't Pedro, Clemens or Koufax
This Cincy team is a two game over .500 team plain and simple, in the big picture we were the better team. I am not going to get intimated by a sub 500 team.
Also, Bauer has been up and down in the post season. He has one career playoff win. He is beatable
I like our chances, there is something different about this team its more complete with the SP clicking as of late.
I like watching this Braves team play, and if our guys get into their pen, we might be having some fun
