Oh I know, I totally expect it. He was a freaking 0.4 WAR player this year and somehow Snitker and our broadcast team think he’s the most valuable player in baseball. Joyce was a 1.2 WAR player in half as many ABs. It really just gets me when the broadcast team on TBS talks about how “great” nick’s arm is. lol, me too. I guess they haven’t actually watched him play during the last eight years.

And I’m still pissed off that Keuchel started two games in this series and Soroka only one. That was never a good idea, despite the road/home splits. I don’t think Keuchel was terrible, he was just average and that’s not good enough for the guy you chose as your #1 for the series. For the most part he kept the ball down but he couldn’t throw strikes or get the hitters to chase. Personally I can’t stand watching soft tossing lefties so I’m a little biased. But I’m always going to say the decision to make him #1 started this series on the wrong foot from the get go. Then the middle of our order flopped and did us in. I haven’t given up, I just know what to expect. I’ve been conditioned well over the years. and you should be still pissed. We all know ultimately if the middle of our lineup hit something that this would be a moot issue, so they shoulder a ton of blame for not having already won this series. That being said... they haven't hit in 3 of the 4 games, so you have to look at what other things could the team have done to put themselves in the best position to win. One other thing was NOT relegating your UNQUESTIONABLE #1 starter who has been by FAR the most consistent starter on your team to only getting 1 start. Then in lieu of that, the guy you DO give 2 starts to is at best the #3 guy...maybe the #4. It was a bone-headed, asinine thing to do. Just effing stupid as hell. Sorry, but it was Brian Snitker trying to think and do something clever.. which he is not good at. He may not be the physical reason we have not already won the series, but it was a DUMBASS decision that most of us here called out immediately. Hopefully it becomes irrelevant after we win game 5 tomorrow, but don't deny it was grade A level stupid. Yeah, this. It’d be like the nats starting Anibal sanchez game one....actually I just came up with that while typing, and it’s SICKENING how accurate it is.

They probably don't even realize that a good right field arm nails Edman at first yesterday on that play.......easily.

"Irrelevant" in terms of us moving on to the NLCS.

and hopefully in relief somewhere Soroka for game 6. Maybe we can only throw our best starter one time, if we try hard enough

The funny thing is that old school thinking says that you go with your best starter in Game One. But analytics favored Soroka as a dominant road starter. Snit finally follows the computer geeks instead of his gut and this is where we are. SMH

Of course, we'll suffer some kind of crazy thing that will ultimately kill our postseason - a phantom umpiring call, a career .100 hitter getting a GW hit, one of our best players falling down the steps and missing the series - it's always something. I'm pretty convinced that this is just the continuation of the Curse of Jim Leyritz.
