I really didn't look close, just linked the first video I saw but yes the original is best! Ronnie’s brother did a commendable job, all things considered, but I could never accept them with him as the singer. I was a die hard Skyryrd fan in the 70’s, and to me the band died when Ronnie died. It was still nice to hear Rossington’s guitar playing when they started the tribute band or whatever it should be called, but it was never close to the same. Gary surviving and playing over the years was the one lucky break we got from the plane crash, he was really banged up and super lucky to survive. I could listen to them because of him, but that was about it for me.

That is some old school real country. Raw... love it. Billy was playing the best true honky tonk music you could find anywhere right up to the end. The last time we saw him he was 78 years old and blew the roof off the place.
I had the great pleasure of talking to him several different times after shows, and he would make the hair on your arms stand up he was so real. The nicest, most humble and down to Earth person you would ever encounter in your life.
He was a true legend and I'll be forever grateful I got to see so many of his shows and talk to him, which I count amongst my greatest blessings from this life.
The man made an impression on you when saw his show, and then another one when you talked to him.
Quite a character.

I asked Billy to sign this poster "I'm Gonna Live Forever," and he leaned over and signed it and handed it to me and said "how about that?"
That's the kind of person he was, he was pretty much dirt poor most of his life but the very definition of "salt of the earth" and caring about other people and giving.
