That is what music should be like all the time. The interaction.. the personal nature of it all. That first performance where he was talking to his audience... One of the best big concerts I ever attended was the Kinks, and the reason was that Ray Davies reached out and conversed with the audience in a personal way. It wouldn't have mattered if there were 10,000 people in the arena or 10 in a room. He made it feel like it was only 10 and you were one of them. |

Okay, I've had my eye on this young man for quite awhile now, trying to get a read on him, and I've come to the conclusion it's time to unleash him on this forum. I doubt if any of you have heard of him because he's an independent artist. He's never had a major label contract, and I think that he finally started his own label. He has done remarkably well on the charts for a guy with zero mainstream coverage. He has one gold album and has sold a lot of records. He started out as a rap artist mainly, then he did some rock and country stuff. The rap was all I heard at first, and I've only heard maybe two rap songs my whole life that I liked, but some of this guy's rap stuff actually sounded fairly good to me. The country stuff is decent and shows potential for some good country music down the road, and he says he's going to do more country now and acted like he's moving away from rap. But his two rock albums just flat out kick ass. They're called Creeker 1 and Creeker 2, and he's supposedly working on Creeker 3 now. The guy is as genuine and down to Earth and salt of the Earth as you can get, this dude is real. He does a lot of 8-10 minute blog like videos he posts on YouTube, and like him or not, he's true to himself and there is not an ounce of pretentiousness in his body. Which is the #1 thing I need when it comes to people. No arrogance, just a here I am, this is me, this is what I think, if you don't like it you can kiss my ass aggressive assault on life.
