ok like I said before this stretch in another tread we needed to make a move and put a spark in this team. And I myself wish Coppy were still here. AA is horrible! He does nothing. He unlike Coppy (who was amazing in the draft) cant even conduct a solid draft. We lost 2 players in the draft 2 because of AA. And I don't care what anyone says the Matt Kemp trade was bad real bad. Heck Kemp may be the MVP at this point. as for freeing money up for next yr, Unless we sign Manny and only Manny we will end up overpaying for a broken down or part-timer. As for Freeman its simply a timing issue and those are often hard to fix but I believe Freeman will fix it. this team needs an Impact bat right now and needs BP help and an SP. And AA will do nothing because he doesn't intend to win this yr only evaluate what we have. We need to give Reed a shot to see if he is as good as he looks in minors.
trade Swanson, Ender, Tehran, Mccarthy and Wisler . Get us a power hitter and a few BP arms. and bring up some prospects to pitch

It was nice while it lasted, but as Atlanta sports fans, it was too good to be true And this slump by Mr Freddie is tiring -- he should be called out for it -- love Freeman but he is not getting his job done well Four losses in a row now -- not good & the Nats seem to be showing interest in salvaging the season And of course, the Phillies (odds favorite to land Machado) are catching us and if recent history shows, they do have an interest in getting the good guys to get better I would not be surprised to see them be a front runner to sign him this off season in spite of that agent -- Its not as bad as it was under Hart & Coppy, but this is a bad disgraceful week and its time to panic these past 4 games I am worried about Newcomb, its skitzy crazy with Teheran and with Folty, while he did settle down and got through 6, he had that one bad inning where he made some bad pitches, gor frustrated and in the end, it lost the game Yes, its time to panic as usual in ATL sports -- we always get frustrated it never works that that is the way it is We will NEVER win anything -- and United let us down too - they too are feeling the curse of ATL sports history after the other night The sky is falling

I've got an idea... let's overreact and make some rash, irrational decisions that lead to the Braves giving up valuable assets in search of some quick fix that would threaten the long term goals of the organization. Sounds like typical fan reaction to me.

let us see how wrong our Board experts have been so far
they said Markakis was old and below average and a horrible defender....lol been best player on the Braves a top 5 NL player. they Said Kemp was Horrible He is possibly the NL MVP they said Swanson was a better player than camargo..that has become so obviously wrong it's laughable they said AA was a great GM so far he has been simply awful
But I will give one of them credit MR Fumbduckey.has came around to see the truth on Swanson .and I am sure He is back on board with Markakis.

When those things were said about Kemp and Markakis, they were pretty accurate.

Those same people also said Ender was an average hitter at best. What I love though is the concept of us trading all of our underperforming players for a power hitter and some good bullpen arms.
That's a great idea.... truly. Count me in on that.

Kemp was a salary dump -- lets see what they do with the money that is supposed to be available to spend in the off season As for the draft -- Carter Stewart -- that is Strike one for Alex and the gang. If they could not or did not want to sign the guy for the money than why the H did they draft him? That is one that AA has to live with -- like the prior regime has the Olivera trade on their resume As for Markakis, I hope he is brought back for another yr unless they do pursue a big type of name. They should be able to get him back for a reasonable contract I have thought Nick was a good Brave, but very good this yr. 15 yrs ago - before the foolishness of WAR, he would have been considered a good ballplayer in his time here by nearly anyone. The book on AA so far is incomplete -- but if he does another Carter Stewart in the draft again I will turn on him -- I turn on people quickly when mistakes are made A mistake is the lowest form of achievement as far as sports go -- I live for winning - and the hatred of losing

I am not trying to be ugly towards you, but your feelings about the Braves are like watching a person stuck on a permanant roller coaster. You have bi-polar fandom.

I have thought Nick was a good Brave, but very good this yr. 15 yrs ago - before the foolishness of WAR, he would have been considered a good ballplayer in his time here by nearly anyone. Nobody needs WAR to see that during his time with the Braves, he was a one tool player. It would be even more obvious by the eye test. He couldn't cover much ground in the outfield, he's slow on the bases, doesn't hit for power and has a poor throwing arm--no one needs WAR to have seen that. He's having a great season at the plate, but it doesn't change the fact that he wasn't all that good for us his first three years. OPS is not a hoodoo voodoo sabermetrics stat--it combines on base percentage with slugging percentage--how much better of a tool could someone want, to measure a guy's offensive production? His first three years with us his OPS was .746, .744 and .738. Quite poor for a corner outfielder, especially one who doesn't make up for it with defense, to say the least.
I always feel bad when I talk him down because I think he's a great guy, and I'm sure he's been a good clubhouse guy and teammate, but let's not skew the facts about his real production. I am very grateful that he's hitting the way he is this year, I just wish he would have been closer to this type of player over the last three years too. His OPS is .886 right now. Kudos where they are deserved for that, but trying to cry about WAR misrepresenting his time here in Atlanta is absurd.

As a sports fan I do not deny that at all -- I am emotional about professional and UGA sports and take every game and play very very seriously In real life at my job, etc., gosh no that is not how I am in real like Bi-Polar fandom - I will not deny that at all. I am having fun with it -- the enjoyment of a win is a mood altering joy. A loss is the Pits of Misery Must win game -- its imperative Newcomb breaks out of it today -- this is a MUST win game for the Braves and a MUST good performance for Newcomb - we need him Still angered about Carter Stewart but hope they do better next yr in the first round

I looked at Nick's doubles and RBIS for the past two yrs which have been quite good I value OPS, but more for middle of the lineup 25ish plus HR hitters - and there is no limiting to the value he has to the team as a guy in the clubhouse. He was about ready to club Hart after he dressed down Snitker -- now Nick is a guy who has never been in controversy -- there had to be something to that story - that in of itself makes me respect him as a person and baseball man I think he has been a serviceable player his first 3 yrs here, very good this yr - I do not see him as a replacement level guy no matter what other numbers can be thrown at me. Okay, maybe he was below par the yr he had only 3 HRS, but I have been happy with him ever since Overpaid -- maybe but they should be able to get him for around say, 8 mil for a yr if they bring him back (if they choose not to sign anyone else)
