It's not like we have much of a reputation left anyway after we were caught cheating.

With Greyson I can’t help but to feel like we got Nolan Gorman 2.0. Seeing Gorman doing a homerun derby and Greyson's bp I don't feel that way. There's potential though.

I say we take Chester the Molestor Like I’ve long said baseball isn’t a pretty sport. Why not? We enabled furcal’s drinking problem and Bobby cox’s Domestic violence for years After seeing what the Braves did w/ Hector Olivera, I don't see them drafting Heimlich. Braves don't need that drama.

In Arn Anderson we trust. Wait a minute who's our GM again? I just know we call him AA.

AA will distance himself from Coppy.
However the devils advocate- this is our last big restock for a while, no international players and it is unlikely we will be picking in the top 10 again for a bit. Beyond Allard we don’t have anyone blowing away the competition. Sure guys have their moments but no consistency. In this regard you find a way to take Chester the Molestor and hit the PR machine hard. I mean liberal media loving MS-13 hard.

I know that if the kid does not get signed and goes to college its a wasted pick on a real good prospect -- and I did not rip the kid from what I have heard its a good prospect with a well above average curveball for his age Teams don’t pick players in the first round that they can’t sign. I only known of it happening once, which makes it exceedingly rare. If you’re worried about that then you’re worrying about the wrong things. Also, read more about how the draft works. Lots of interesting information. I knew that teams sometimes drafted players who decided to go to college first, but I never knew how rare (almost impossible) it was for the first round. Jason Varitek is one name who got drafted in the 1st round but went to finish his senior year at Georgia Tech. I guess it becomes slightly more common for 3rd/4th round picks and later to opt to go to college.

I guess it becomes slightly more common for 3rd/4th round picks and later to opt to go to college. [ I believe the Astros draft Mark Appel, I believe, and he didn’t aign, for whatever reason, and the Astros got two top-5 picks the next year; one for being terribad and the other for being unable to sign the player they drafted. That being said, that kind of situation, as I stated previously, is extremely rare. Teams negotiate with a handful of players long before the team makes their pick, so it’s all a formality, insomuch as the player has an idea who’s going to draft them and how much they’re going to get. As for your example, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Varitek’s agent negotiated for the right to have him play his senior season and the team who drafted him approved.
