With Greyson I can’t help but to feel like we got Nolan Gorman 2.0.

Love the Beck pick. He had an alright year after a long layoff due to his back. Has 4 pitches with good control of his fastball. Legit upside if he can get his stuff back to pre injury form. Could have easily gone second round.
I am glad they took a risk on a guy like this vs another Drew Harrington.

Another solid pick with Riley. Two plus offerings already and could move quickly as a reliever.

1B Greyson Jenista with Braves second pick. Write up on Jenista Jenista has a somewhat unusual combination of frame and tools for a first round hitter. At 6'4/240, normally prospects of that size have real issues with athleticism, defense, and offensive limitations, and go outside of the top few rounds. The difference is that Jenista has plus athleticism for his size, turning in average run times and playing some center field for Wichita State. He also plays some first base but fits best in pro ball in right field, where his 55 arm plays. At the plate, Jenista is something like a post-peak Adam Dunn or Lance Berkman, with patience and also some wild swings and misses early in the count, but 65-grade raw power that can punish mistakes. Jenista also has a more flat-planed swing that is ripe for a loft-inducing tweak. I like the pick -- if he is decent on defense and can be an Adam Dunn kind of hitter I'll take that Of course, too early to tell -- I did want them to go after a raw power guy -- at some point they will have to develop a catcher Sure they will draft one later on

LM better come up with the $$$$$ to sign Stewart -- you do not blow an 8th overall pick They better have done their research as far as signability From what is being said the kid already has a MLB caliber curveball -- cannot witch about the pick assuming he signs Looks like a top of the rotation guy assuming health and development -- a lot to like there You don’t know how the draft works, do you? At least admit that you don’t and then we can have an honest discussion about how your comment makes no sense. I know that if the kid does not get signed and goes to college its a wasted pick on a real good prospect -- and I did not rip the kid from what I have heard its a good prospect with a well above average curveball for his age

I love our first pick, but he's got to develop at least a change unless he is shooting for a ceiling of short reliever.

I’m satisfied with who the Braves picked up yesterday. Excited to see who they get today. What’s your evaluation on Carter Stewart? My evaluation isn’t much different from what you’ve been hearing. Good fastball, excellent curve, feel for the change; high upside. I’m more than happy with the pick.

I only known of it happening once, which makes it exceedingly rare. If you’re worried about that then you’re worrying about the wrong things. Also, read more about how the draft works. Lots of interesting information.

I say we take Chester the Molestor Like I’ve long said baseball isn’t a pretty sport. Why not? We enabled furcal’s drinking problem and Bobby cox’s Domestic violence for years
