Come on man. Can the guy at least get to the the clubhouse before you start calling him a problem? If he gives us what Kemp did with his bat and can stay healthy(which Kemp couldn't) he could be a real asset. You know what goes a long way for a young pitchers confidence? Winning games where you give up 3 runs or less. Our bats have been hot to start the season no doubt but it's not sustainable with this current lineup. We need a big bat. Worst case we cut him. Best case he helps us make a playoff run. Middle(and most likely) he'll be a good trading piece at the deadline.
You know what also goes a long way in helping young pitchers? A 3B with range and who's not a defensive liability. That would be Camargo, who's not a bad hitter in his own rights. Look, if the Braves were scuffling offensively, I'd say "why not"? But it's not necessary at this time.
As far as his character is concerned, he showed a lot of that to me last year with his unnecessary bat flip against the Braves.
Thank God AA is looking ahead and not just having blind faith that Flarety and Tucker will continue to hit out of their minds and that Freeman and Albies will be 1-2 in NL MVP voting. So, you think a guy is bad for the locker room because of a bat flip?! Come on man. None of the players even care anymore I assure you. If you've ever played sports before you know that in the heat of the moment something like that will piss you off but the next day you realize how dumb it was to even get mad about it. The only reason the players got pissed is because their adrenaline is at max while their playing ball. I bet you don't want Harper either because he ran his foot across the script a. So dumb.

I agree. And a fact to consider is that Camargo had an OPS 100 points higher than Bautista last year. There's no guarantee that Camargo would continue to outhit Bautista, but Bautista did decline each of the last two years. A lot in 2017. I know he still hit 20+ HR's each year and so what, he obviously had a real bad year with the bat last year overall. If he's likely to bounce back and be a real good asset, I find it curious that nobody else took a chance on him at a measly $1M.

Plenty of American League teams would've love to have him as a bench bat or even DH I'm sure. I believe he held out until he found a place that would give him a comfortable situation and a chance to start.

So you think he would have chosen to take a contract for only $1mm because we said he could play 3rd over taking a contract where he would have been someone's DH, when decent DH's make a lot more than just $1mm and still play every night?
I'm not sure about lots of teams in the AL wanting him, because if they did the $$ offer would have been just as good or better and DHing is a much better role for him.

"comfortable situation and a chance to start." I believe these 2 things mean more to a player Batistas age than 500k more on a contract. I could be wrong but I believe I read an article on the old forum back in the winter that said he wanted to play as close to his home in Tampa Bay as possible. Most were predicting TB or us at that point because of his familiarity with AA. The Marlins made Logistical sense but not really a fit since they are in the beginning of a full rebuild.

How are we liking the current lineup (not our hypothetical championship lineup)? At the top of the lineup I think it is time to switch Albies and Acuna given that Acuna has the higher obp and Albies has the higher slugging percentage. The back of the lineup is bad, but we can't do much about that. We might as well at least try Flaherty at 3B until Swanson comes back and it sounds like that could be soon.

I agree on the Acuna Albies swap. I don't like Flaherty tad an everyday player

How are we liking the current lineup (not our hypothetical championship lineup)? It's hard to argue with the results. We're leading the NL in most offensive categories. It's looking like it might not be all that hypothetical to say this lineup could win a championship. I don't feel that strongly about the order for the top two and I'm going to bet Snitker follows the "If it's not broke, don't fix it" philosophy there anyway.

Keep the top two the same. Although I think it wouldn’t matter. The top 4 could be in any order and I am fine.
I think we make an upgrade at 3rd. Maybe mouse or beltre. I am hoping we can score another stud BP guy. But with the surplus of pitchers. Might not.

Albies hit another home run. I'd like to again call for Albies and Acuna to be switched up in the order.
It is too early to do this, but I'd like to make a more drastic change if trends continue. That would be to move Markakis to lead off, Freeman to 2, and Albies to 3.

I'd just like to see him get on base more.

Again, I don't think you can go too wrong with Oz, Acuña, FF, Neck at the top regardless the order. those are clearly your 4 best hitters right now and deserve the extra ABs you get them.
