I know not every position has a current or future superstar - but no championship team ever does.
Will or should the focus this off season be 100% on pitching?
Inciarte, Albies, Freeman, Swanson and Acuna. That's the basis of a really strong lineup. Do we need to go after a big bat or can we fill 3 spots in the lineup internally and with more affordable veterans?
The pitching is very middle-of-the-pack right now and I think I'd lean towards spending money on a starter and significant bullpen upgrades if there's not substantial development of some of our current pitchers. If 5-6 IP is the new normal, I think I'd favor paying a little extra for solid middle relief rather than paying big money for one closer.

I think we still need one more bat at 3rd or RF.

I think we still need one more bat at 3rd or RF. I agree. We're obviously not gonna keep Neck (although he is playing very well), so we need an outfielder. Could it be Dustin Peterson? Third base is a bit different. Unlike some, I really like Camargo until Riley is ready. All that said, I say we will get an outfielder and a front-line starter, say Marwin Gonzales (who can also play the infield in a pinch) and (gulp) the great one himself, Clayton Kershaw?

Camargo is an unknown as a viable long-term solution but I'm certainly not ruling him out...
With or without him though we need one more bat in the lineup somewhere.

What about Bumgarner?
He's been hurt a lot lately but still only 28 years old.
Feel like we have a better chance of getting Harper or Machado than Kershaw....but I'm guessing Machado will be a Yankee.

Yeah, he's an unknown, but I tell ya, he's really comin' on, and the kid's got some talent, and he's competitive as hell. I'm not counting him out.

I'm not counting him out either, but we still need another bat with some power. So if Camargo is the 3rd baseman of the future, then RF is the most natural place to look for it.

Camargo is going to end up getting traded to somebody where he can play 2B or SS. I hate that, but he's just not in the plans. Obviously Riley is going to be the 3B. Unless they try to play Camargo in the outfield (and his lack of consistent power will hurt him there) he's just not in our plans. I was disappointed he wasn't included in our young guy players promo today to open the telecast, and then he sat on the bench after a nice game last night. We're going to try to use him as a utility guy, and he's probably too good to do that, he'll probably end up getting enough interest from somebody that they'll offer more that it's worth for us to hang onto him and use him as a role player. I'm still not sold that Dansby is going to be consistent, I hope we at least hang onto Camargo until we see Dansby be consistent for at least 3-4 months.

I think we still need one more bat at 3rd or RF. Riley and Harper....and the Braves would still have the dough to sign Bumgarner.

Bumgarner ain't a free agent until after 2019, though, right? I don't wanna wait until 2020 to find an ace. Kershaw ain't goin' nowhere, IMO, so that's a pipe dream. The Dodgers got the dough, and won't let him walk. No way, no how. I suspect the Braves might try to make a trade, but the prospect cost would be HIGH if you go that route. I don't know, it's a tough call on the ace.

Too early and too many unknowns still about pitchers we already have.

I do believe we will also pursue Kershaw and will be in the running until the end. I'm not sure he'll leave the west coast though
