Camargo is going to end up getting traded to somebody where he can play 2B or SS. I hate that, but he's just not in the plans. Obviously Riley is going to be the 3B. Unless they try to play Camargo in the outfield (and his lack of consistent power will hurt him there) he's just not in our plans. I was disappointed he wasn't included in our young guy players promo today to open the telecast, and then he sat on the bench after a nice game last night. We're going to try to use him as a utility guy, and he's probably too good to do that, he'll probably end up getting enough interest from somebody that they'll offer more that it's worth for us to hang onto him and use him as a role player. I'm still not sold that Dansby is going to be consistent, I hope we at least hang onto Camargo until we see Dansby be consistent for at least 3-4 months. Proud of you fumb. I know you love you some Camargo and that can't have been easy to admit.

I’m not sure Camargo is going to be a starter in the big leagues when all is said and done, so I don’t have unrealistic expectations of what he can do. But he has shown he does a lot of things to help the team win. Everybody should love Camargo until he gives us a reason not to.

I wish our manager would love Camargo a little more. He needs to be starting over Flaherty. Appreciate what Ryan did the first couple of weeks but that ship has sailed. Time to get Camargo, yet another young athletic energizing player, in the lineup more regularly.

Some think he's an everyday 3rd baseman but we need more pop from an everyday first baseman.

Time to get Camargo, yet another young athletic energizing player, in the lineup more regularly. That begs the question, what do we do with Camargo and Flaherty when this Joey Bautista experiment happens. I hope it works out and Joey Bats hits a ton of home runs, but if not I hope the test period is short and sweet...if he's not cutting it they need to dump him and stick Camargo in there to get him experience and maybe increase his trade value...especially if it appears Riley is ready to be fast tracked.

Personally I think we need to stay far away from Joey Bats. He's just going to be Matt Kemp all over again. We don't need his bat in the lineup or his personality in the clubhouse. Continue to go with the kids.

I don't think the Joey Bats experiment is even necessary. Camargo may well be traded, I ain't got a clue, but he's the type of player every team needs. The Braves now may not be the time and place for him, though.

He can play 3rd 4-5 times per week and spell our 2B and SS to give them some rest once in awhile. And as I've said, I'm not convinced yet he's not going to be a better long term option as SS than Dansby. Dansby has looked really good, but he's also been going downhill the last week again. He's 5-24 with an OPS of .504 the last seven days. He still scares me a little.

I wouldn't rule out Camargo becoming a 15-20 HR guy himself. He's reportedly a hard worker, and has gotten considerably stronger since last year. I'm not saying that will happen, but it could.

And I do think people have said he should be playing 3B for us now, possibly every day, but that’s just to keep him in the lineup because he contributes and it would give us a better feel for what he can do long term. But I don’t think anybody thinks he could be our future 3B, especially with Riley coming along so well.

Continue to go with the kids. Come on man. Can the guy at least get to the the clubhouse before you start calling him a problem? If he gives us what Kemp did with his bat and can stay healthy(which Kemp couldn't) he could be a real asset. You know what goes a long way for a young pitchers confidence? Winning games where you give up 3 runs or less. Our bats have been hot to start the season no doubt but it's not sustainable with this current lineup. We need a big bat. Worst case we cut him. Best case he helps us make a playoff run. Middle(and most likely) he'll be a good trading piece at the deadline.

I'm hanging on to Camargo as long as I can control his salary. At worst he's a super utility guy and great insurance policy at 3 positions.

You know what also goes a long way in helping young pitchers? A 3B with range and who's not a defensive liability. That would be Camargo, who's not a bad hitter in his own rights. Look, if the Braves were scuffling offensively, I'd say "why not"? But it's not necessary at this time.
As far as his character is concerned, he showed a lot of that to me last year with his unnecessary bat flip against the Braves.
