The 2024 season is finally over, so lets put that debacle behind us and look forward to next season.
As much as we can knowing Sarge has already let it be known he'll be back at the helm making bad pitching decisions for yet
another year.
Next year's rotation? Who's realistically available in FA to fill those needs...
Re-sign Minter? Can Matzek make it back?
Are they going to hang on to Kelenic? Lawd I hope not... dude is cheeks.
Can they for the love of all good things get rid of Smurphy?

Arcia and Kelenic are highly probable. |

The Murphy debacle has really hurt this organization. It still makes me sick. We could have had Contreras AND Langeliers for pennies on the dollar compared to the money being wasted on Murphy. We could have shored up a position of need with that money. AA's worst move ever. I've never liked Murphy's mechanical swing. He was hot when the league didn't know him, but now he's an easy out. What a terrible trade.

#Braves’ Brian Snitker said he absolutely plans to manage next season and that he wishes spring training began tomorrow. Said he’s exhausted, more excited about going back to camp with these guys than he’s ever been.

Any injuries puts us in a juggling act again with 'organizational depth' like AJSS, Elder, Vines etc. It got so bad this year we tried to convert a 30 year old former starter turned reliever, Kerr, back into a starter and it was only MAY. 13 innings later he is out for the year with TJS. You would think that would set off a red flag that you need more starters. |

Chris Sale would've been on the NLDS roster had the #Braves advanced. Sale threw today at Truist Park to make sure he was over the back spasms.

The Braves plan to exercise the options for Ozuna ($16M), Bummer ($7.25M) and d'Arnaud ($8M).

Via David O'Brien" Discuss We didn't have enough pitching THIS year when we targeted pitching. Now were losing Fried AND probably Morton and not targeting pitching? We're banking on all our pitchers, especially Sale, Lopez, and Strider, to stay healthy all year and if one or two go down we'll just use "organizational depth" or maybe Ray Kerr will heal fast enough to be put back in the rotation again. I've seen that "organizational depth" and other than SBach none of it has panned out in a good way. Not targeting pitching will be our downfall. Pitching is the only thing that kept us alive this year. Pitching and good defense can overcome a lot of offensive flaws. If we're not targeting pitching what are we targeting, another LFer, a different SS, otherwise, all the other positions are set. What exactly are we targeting? |
