You could see when he got hit, he just stood there and knew something was wrong.
I didn't get that from his reaction. He looked more pissed that it happened again, like "are you kidding me?" But he didn't appear to be in nearly as much pain as last year.
I'm cautiously optimistic that he'll just be day to day for a few days and good to go by the time we hit the road.
Agreed

Yeah, it didn't look like it was too painful when he got hit. It looked more like he was more like "not again".

No fracture, he’s day to day. Per DOB. #Braves Country, breathe a sigh of relief: Freeman's wrist not broken, slugger is isted as day-to-day.

Whew. Dodged a big bullet there.
Will be interesting to see how the Braves line up the next couple of days. I'm guessing something like this:
CF Inciarte 2B Albies RF Markakis C Suzuki LF Tucker SS Swanson 3B Camargo 1B Flaherty P

I just knew he was OK. Yay!! Freeman's presence in the lineup leaves a pretty big hole, even though he hasn't hit particularly well the last few days. Hit them line drives, boys.........

No. Eff day to day and trying to play through pain. I would MUCH rather they sit him or put him on the DL until he's back at 100%. We're off to a good start, but I still think next year is when we really go for it. I don't want him to try to play through it and turn a (hopefully) relatively minor injury into something that lingers all season and potentially affects his hitting mechanics in a negative way.

It's in a player's DNA to want to play through pain, so at some point the manager or GM might have to say "no". We however have a "players manager" so if Freddie says he can go... they will let him go.

Most players would probably be told they're sitting for at least a couple days just to be safe, but given who Freddie is and what he's put up with in this rebuild they probably feel obligated to let him play if he insists on it.
Hope he's ok.

In the pregame radio show they reported that DOB asked Snit if he had any hesitation putting Freeman back out there tonight and the off-record response was "hell no". Then they asked DOB if Freddie would admit it of he was hurting and the DOB response of course "hell no".
See we may think the Braves aren't ready yet, and that's ok.. but players are players and Snit probably feels like his managing for his job.

If I was Snit and managing for my job I'd feel a whole lot more comfortable with Freddie sitting a few days to be safe. If he screws up the wrist now because it's not really ready, losing him for 7 weeks or 10 weeks or the rest of the season is going to be a nail in Snit's coffin. With Wisler pitching, I'd almost concede we're going to need 15 runs to win anyway so I'd sit Freddie at least tonight.

Yeah but you're not one of those baseball manager guys like Snit.

Yeah but you're not one of those baseball manager guys like Snit. The problem is Snit isn't a baseball manager guy either. He basically manages the team like Cheat would.

Fans are apparently only happy with a manager if he goes undefeated. Personally, I think this chrome domed Snitker cat is doing a pretty good job.

I agree. He's not going to always make the right decisions, but who does? I think he's done fine and the players play hard for him. Some may get frustrated with his handling of the pitching staff, but most of the time the choice is right, it's just that the pitchers fail to execute. To me, that's more of a reflection on Hernandez than Snitker.
And let's face it, he's not Fredi Gonzalez, so we should all be thankful for that.
