Pitcher will now be Elder because we apparently love parading our AAAA pitchers around.

I guess we'll see our 'organizational depth' a lot all year now. Still say they should have opted for another arm in the off season, especially if this was the intended plan.

I was SO looking forward to playing this AAA grab ass game with our starting pitchers again this year!

It was really as simple as……go ahead and trade for Sale, convert Lopez, and then sign either Duvall or Rosario or both for LF and use the money you saved by not going after Kelenic to add another solid or at least decent backend SP. our team did not need an upgrade in LF as good as we were, our SP was sketchy and was thee top priority beyond the two risks we took. And we see signs that the “upgrade” in LF may not even be what we got when it’s all said and done.

Our 'organizational depth' pitcher is looking shaky tonight but escapes damage due to a Marlins base running blunder. Observing his pitches so far, I'm not optimistic.

Elder needs to do something with his speed. All of those pitches were almost exactly the same speed. It would do him better to be 91-85 than it would to be throwing everything 89-90. It's too easy to time those pitches so unless location is perfect he will get rocked.

It's too easy to time those pitches so unless location is perfect he will get rocked. He also needs to use the fastball up in the zone occasionally to change the eye level. Everything has been down so far. Not saying down is bad but if every pitch is down and the batter is always looking down and even the good ones get hit more than they should.
