As stupid as many teams have been over the years I’ve never believed we needed a hard salary cap, but if the spoiled rich kid owners are going to go insane we need a cap. I would imagine it’s going to become a big topic after this because this is not good for baseball. I would imagine that most or all of the owners have to be really cringing over this. For about half a dozen teams it appears that money is not much of a deterrent to signing anyone.

lol, what a joke.
I think as of right now Buehler is their only legit starting pitcher, just to begin to scrape the surface of the issues they still have.
They are in on free agents or trades for Yamamoto, Cease and others. They have a good farm system too. Look for at least one trade and one free agent signing.

Not that actual playoff performance really means anything (lol), but I decided to do a little research on post season numbers...... Since 2017, among hitters who have had a minimum of 100 plate appearances, Eddie Rosario has the 14th best playoff OPS in all of baseball with a .865 OPS. Notable names with lower OPS's than that: 15th Max Muncy .856 16th Carlos Correa .856 17th Juan Soto .845 20th Gleyber Torres .820 21st Ronald Acuna Jr. .817 23rd Alex Bregman .790 24th Jeremy Pena .783 25th Justin Turner .775 26th Aaron Judge .772 29th Marcus Semien .759 32nd Manny Machado .735 33rd JT Realmuto .731 34th Michael Brantley .725 35th Dansby Swanson .721 37th Mookie Betts .713 38th Yuli Gurriel .709 39th Trea Turner .708 40th Kyle Tucker .704 43rd Willy Adames .689 44th Will Smith .686 48th Xander Bogaerts .661 49th Cody Bellinger .661 50th Ozzie Albies .656 51st Austin Riley .647 52nd Nick Castellanos .637 Also consider that Eddie has a 1.137 OPS in the playoffs against LHP.......and sat in favor of a guy who had a .550 OPS the last 2/3 of this season and a career .661 OPS against LHP in the playoffs.......and .560 against RHP. Interesting too that we didn't want pay Eddie $9M this year to be the 6th or 7th best player on our team......easily the best number 6 or 7 player on any team in baseball, but we're ok paying most of Max Stassi's $7M to play for someone else. The organization is committed by circumstance to Snit, and Rosy wan't a Snit guy.

Pillar, Grossman and Ryan Flaherty are Snit type guys. If he could hand pick his baseball player guys he’d have the worst team ever assembled. He didn’t like Joc and he hates Acuna. It also appears Murphy may be another one he doesn’t like, for whatever reason. You never know with him, he’s such a moron it can be hard to figure out. Grissom is another one. Several bullpen guys too. But he loved Yates.

Snitker evaluates his players like this—if you were getting drunk at your fine local redneck refreshment establishment, let’s say the “Haw Ass Bar & Grill,” and you’re walking back to your truck and encounter some bad dudes—not Corn Pop, but some bad dudes with ill intent…..who would you want to have with you, John Wayne (Pillar or Grossman), or Cheech or Chong (Rosario)?

Braves sign players with a crap load of variables and question marks. "We hope Kelenic turns into the type of player everyone thinks he can be..." How about signing someone with a pedigree track record?

Dodgers get Yamamoto or Snell and they're set, especially with Ohtani returning to the mound next year. Glasnow has been injured so much he only averaged about 80-90 innings/year.
